You know what I love? Sports. I love sports. Sports, sports, sports, sports, sports, sports, sports, sports. When it comes to Texas A&M. Where are you getting this information? Let me tell you. Welcome to TexAgs. Yippee-ki-yay, it's football season. Let's go. We will develop men, we will graduate players, and we will win championships on the field. There's nothing that that guy can't catch. He catches everything. If it's there to be caught, he catches it. Damn it, like, I want to win, you're going to feel the way I play football. And you make sure that everyone on that sideline and every opponent you play, they're going to know that they play to help the football player. And this is a real program. It's not fake. This is a real place. And if you want to be really good at football, this is a really good place to be. You know, if I'm betting on anybody, it's the Aggies. So, where do we begin here on TexAgs Live? Do we begin with the 2014 playoff or talk about the biggest game of the year versus the Citadel? Olin Buchanan, welcome back from your journeys and you're going to continue journeying because next week we'll be, I'm going with you. That'll be fun. I hope. Hanging out. Yeah. I don't know if the game will be, but tomorrow's game will be fun because... You remember though, OB, I'm sorry, 22, I bring up 22 all the time because it's the most, but that was a game that I think we thought this could be a blowout and they had every chance to win that game. Is that the Haynes King, the worst... What happened at half time? Well, we were up in the press box. And look, I loved Haynes as much as anybody is. I wish it would have worked out here for him because he's a great kid. But Haynes had a turnover problem. And I remember just before half time, A&M had gotten the lead and then stopped Alabama, got the ball. And I said, you know, they should just play a conservative no matter what, just don't have a turnover here. I think immediately after you said that. And like the very next play, Haynes is under pressure. And instead of just running out of bounds, he throws up some BS pass to nobody. And it gets intercepted, they return. I can't remember if they got a field goal or a touchdown. But just imagine, and I know things change, but if Haynes runs out of bounds, they end up punting, and they go into halftime, whatever the score was, because of the camera. But just imagine if everything else happened in the second half the same way it did, you win that game. You win that game. Just don't be stupid at the end of a half. Sometimes I just don't get it. It's like this program, it's not just team, because it's not just one guy. It's just, I don't know if jinx is the right word, but they just have this tendency to do something mind-boggling, mind-bogglingly dumb at the end of the first half. Well, the reason I brought that up was I thought they were gonna get destroyed, and I think I thought that. Yeah, and they almost won. And they almost won. And you know what? If your $10 million coach had said, I've got the best player on the field, and I'm going to either use him for a decoy or throw to him or run to him, Devon A-Chain, the fastest guy out there. But no, he's not even going to factor into the play when I need two yards. A&M just send me the money. A quarter of it. Yeah. Just a quarter. I guarantee it, had I been the coach, Devon A-Chain probably would have gotten the ball on a half back run pass option. Oh, look at that. So I'm going to run it, and if they come up, throw over his head. OB stands for Offensive Coordinator Buchanan, OCB. Oh, gosh. I'm still upset about that call. I'm about to get you more upset. Ready to be more mad? Yeah. With this 2014 playoff, it looks like your favorite conference championship will probably go away. Yes, that's too bad. I think that's sad for us. I think years down the road, not too many, but they're going to regret that and wish that they hadn't gone to a 2014 playoff and done away with conference championships. They'll still have some dumb butt way of saying, well, you're the conference champion, just point somebody out. But I think that's sad and I think they'll regret it, but the genie will have been out of the bottle. I don't know if I have a strong opinion. I understand the question is, what is it going to do the regular season? Are eight and four teams going to be getting in the playoffs? Does that mean, are we becoming NFL light? College football is becoming NFL light? I don't know, dude. I watch the games. I hope for my team to do well. Whatever the parameters are, the parameters are. I miss bowl games mattering. I do and they don't. I'm laughing at some of the criticism before has been on 12 teams. There's not 12 teams that can win the national championship. Why are you even bothering with 12 teams, even though Miami was what, 11th? Yeah, 11th. Or 12, 12, maybe 12th. They played A&M. A&M was the 5th of 12th. And Daniel won the national championship. But you're out there saying, oh, there's no way you got 12 teams that can win it. Now you're just going to double that. I think A&M was the 8th seed, weren't they? They're 5th seed. Are they the 5th seed? Maybe I'm wrong. Yeah, you're right. It would be 5th, 12th. Because I was always angry that A&M should not have been the 5th seed. A&M should have been the 4th seed. Yeah, you're right. Anyway, I don't have that big of a opinion anywhere. Seven, sorry. There were seven? Seven versus ten. Gosh, TexAgs, we know things. You know what? I forget what I had to eat for breakfast. I knew it wasn't five because... They still should have been a 4 seed. Tech took the 4 and it pushed A&M out of that. But anyway, whatever. We know things. We really do. We know that this year, A&M wouldn't... Well, actually... To my point, look, Miami was a 10 seed then and they almost won it. But this year, technically, if we were a 2014 playoff, A&M would still be in. I'm just telling you the truth. Based on what? Based on if they won out, they'd be... You mean they'd still be alive? Yes. They'd still be in the conversation? Yes, technically. For two more weeks? Technically. Yeah. Yeah. By the way, there is a world where A&M could still be a playoff team this year. There is. I'm just saying, there's a world. Yes, there is. The multiverse of madness. If you figure everything out against the Citadel tomorrow and then went out, had that inertia going for you where you won the rest of your games. Six straight games. And you went nine and three. Okay. And you have to have a little bit of help. Help, yeah. Other teams are going to have to lose. Some of the teams you beat are going to have to lose. Multiple times? Yeah. And then it comes down to A&M taking on Texas. Both teams in an elimination game. Bam! A&M goes. They take on Georgia. America! So, in the immortal words of Lloyd Christmas, what you're telling me is... So, what you're telling me is there's a chance. Yeah. Or something like that. Look, if I'm Texas A&M... Which you are. Sorry, if I'm on the football team. Okay. And I matter, okay? I am not thinking about... It's a nice shirt you have on. Thank you, it was a birthday gift. We call that hat. Yeah. It was a quarter zip. Yeah, thank you. Do you see it says A&M, real small letters? Look at that. Oh yeah, that is nice. Anyway, if you're A&M, you can't be thinking about the playoffs, per se. You gotta be thinking, you really do have to think about each step of the journey. I think if you're A&M... But the season's not over if you're in that locker room. I think from A&M, you have to think about every snap. Every individual snap along the way. They say in a marathon, if you think about the mileage, you will fail. But if you think about the step or that current mile that you're on, you will make it. Like, for those who aren't runners, per se, right? Like, you know, if you think about having to go, if you think about that entire 26-mile journey, right? Look, I got 10 miles, 10 miles, I still gotta go 10 miles. What the hell, bro? I can't do that. I can do a mile, though. But if I can take one more step, though, and I can take another one and another one. So, what's the Chinese dude that said the, I wish Andrew Wu was here to help me out on this, the journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step. It was a fellow from China that said that? Yeah, I think, maybe Confucius, maybe. Confucius, yeah. So yeah. I think Sid Tu's over there trying to figure it out for me. Sid Turney. I don't know how to say this. Lao Tu. Oh, Lao who? Lao, I'm looking at this on Reddit. So, I don't know if the source is very, it says Lao Tu. Lao Tzu? Tzu. Is that the guy that wrote the Art of War? No, that's, what's his name? Is it Lao Three? No, it's not Lao Three. It's Shung T. I don't know. Shung T? I definitely have mild cognitive impairment this morning. I don't remember Jack. I don't remember playoff seedings. I don't remember my middle names, Edward. I don't remember a lot of things. Okay? It's MCI right here. Edward? Yeah. Not Eduardo? No, Edward. Okay. David Edward Nuño. Dan. Yeah. Dan. Anywho, shall we do, I don't even know what I want to see. Three things we want to see brought to you by the Brazos Running Company. From running shoes to Aggie pajamas, this Aggie family's got you covered. Visit the Brazos Running Company in Century Square or shop masonhay at masonhay.com. OB, what do you want to see? I want to see Big Place. Oh yeah. I want to see Marcel Reed complete like 85% of his passes. I want to see Marcel Reed playing great, running, completing passes. I want to see Big Place and I want to see defense absolutely dominating the line of scrimmage. Okay, here are my three things. Okay. Meaningful snaps from other quarterbacks. Okay. I want to see Marcel play well. Ideally, he plays a half and it's 10 of 12, three touchdown passes. Okay, that'd be great. But I want to see everybody get a look. Everybody. Eli Morcos, too. I don't care. Just roll them in there. I want everybody to play, okay? I want a clean and confident response when things potentially go wrong. If you have a three and out, I'm going to be angry, but hopefully they're not angry and they respond to it. Just whatever chaos happens, and also, I'm going to add to that, a clean and confident response after the half. Good third quarter. Yeah. Just give me a good third quarter. The last thing, an office that takes control early. I want like 21-0 first quarter, and now we can do the experimentation. Okay. Now, I'm not trying to be the bad guy. Well, you're about to be. But I am. I think I'm going to be just the realistic guy. If you get all those things, if I get all the things I want to see and you get everything you want to see. It doesn't tell us, Jack. It's the Citadel, but the Citadel, baby, they gave up 42 points to Wofford. Wofford, the Terriers. Yeah. They gave up one point. Hey, we know Wofford, the basketball team. Yeah, we do. 36 East Tennessee State. Didn't Jimbo Fisher's son play quarterback there, didn't he? Anyway, the point is, you should do all those things and it still doesn't mean that you fixed anything. But if you don't see those things, then it means something. That means you're flatlining pretty much, because I don't mean to disrespect an opponent, but let's be real. It's the Citadel. It's the Citadel. They're not in the same, well, quite literally the same league, but also they're not figuratively in the same league. And I know sometimes you excel despite being out of your league. I did, you did, we all did. But the Citadel is a different caliber of athlete. Yeah. So if you can't go over there and just maul the Citadel, then you're going to get mauled in Bustle. But A&M mauled Arkansas. It didn't mean Jack. That's why... It meant you were in the worst team in the SEC. That's all it meant. Pretty much. Who is your pick between A&M and Vanderbilt right now? Vanderbilt is struggling. Where's the game played? Maybe. I like to think that A&M would be... Yeah. I'd be embarrassed to say if A&M didn't win. I think A&M would win that game. But can we get an offense? Because if you only play defense, you're only scoring if you get picked sixes. They play defense. I was on a radio show with a guy from Austin the other day, and he mentioned, what's wrong with the defense? They gave up all this point. It didn't play well against Missouri. I said, wait, I disagree with that. I thought the defense played really well against Missouri. They just, the mental and the psychological and physical toll of your offense giving you no help eventually takes its time, and the defense eroded in the fourth quarter. But it was- Defense played well enough to keep you in the game for three quarters. Defense played well enough for you to win the game for three quarters. If you had an offense. Yeah, if you had an offense, we'll post. But you didn't. So this is where we are. This is TexAgs Live. We are presented by David Gardner's Jewelers. We are in the Rollo Insurance Studio. It is the GO Hour presented by the warehouse at CC Creations. And I don't know why, but we're not sitting over there. We'll do that for the next segment in the Holistic Planner cool side. Yeah, I'm putting on some sweatpants. I don't know what happened. We were just sitting here just yapping away like two old men. And then next thing you know, the show started. Yeah. And then you're like moving your backpack and trying to post on TexAgs. So here we are. Yeah, because the Holistic Planner cool zone can go wherever you need them to be. Yeah, if you like making money. Make money and save money and keep money and invest money. And let's see, if you want to be part of the conversation, call us up. Yeah, on the Buppies Catering and Bar Tending Hotline. I know a gentleman called yesterday, Mike. I don't sometimes check the phone calls in the first segment. So Mike, I apologize I didn't get to you yesterday. But if you want to call, call us up on the Buppies Catering and Bar Tending Hotline. You can text the show and a lot of people take advantage of that. Yeah, you can text us at the same number that you call us on the Buppies Catering and Bar Tending Hotline. That number is 979-693-1150. And when you text it, it magically becomes the catalyst, Pure Performance Energy PPE text line. I'm going to read a text. I'm sorry, Sid, because this one caught my attention. Cody says, it's funny, he said it twice and he still made a mistake. He's got MCI just like I do. Like Satan says, play in the next six seconds. Oops, like savings says, play in the next six seconds. Yeah, he means saving. Yeah, the saving worshippers. Anyway, sometimes you get them confused. Let's go around the room. Yeah, let's go left, go right, through that door, through the television, who do we say hi to? Well, first Nick. Yeah, that's what I meant. Howdy, good morning, Nick. I'll just glance past that OB. I don't think you just forgot my name. So, hey, you know, I hear a lot of talk about the playoff expansion, right? And how it's, you know, quote unquote, rooting college football. I don't honestly think it is, because none of us wanted it, right? Nobody wanted 24 teams. I personally thought 16 was the right number. I don't like the buys and all that, but I just don't buy into the narrative that it's ruining college football. Obviously, you're going to lose some things that we all care about. Some of the, you know, important regular season games will be diminished. That's for sure. But I still think it's going to make for an entertaining playoff system, and I just don't think that it's going to ruin the sport for me, you know what I mean? Well, this is, I think, potentially what's going to happen. It may diminish some of the top-tier teams' games, right? They won't matter as much. But if you're Oklahoma, if you're A&M and you do figure out your season, it makes the rest of the season actually important, as opposed to, like, the feeling right now is like, can we get to next year already? That's what it feels like, unfortunately. And this would create a, hey, hey, hey, we figured things out. Let's go see what we can do. Yeah, I mean, there is that. Let's see, well, if we get into the playoff and then get our heads beat in in week one, because we really don't believe along there. I remember Mike Elko even said, I think it's supposed to be difficult. Yep. And then, you know, you start thinking about, like, do you know who won the, now this is a bad example, but because they were dominant, but you know who won the Big 12 basketball championship last year? The Big 12 basketball championship was won by Baylor. I don't know. I don't think so. Sid's looking it up. You know who won the SEC basketball championship last year? Regular season championship. The SEC, Auburn went all the way to the final, right? I think that was the year before. Okay. Bro, I don't remember. Who was it? That's the point. Tennessee? I don't know. I think it was Florida. Florida, okay. I think, but that's the point I'm making is that you're taking what is important. Let me ask you, everybody, how excited were you? I know Sid wasn't even probably born yet, but in 98 when A&M won the Big 12 Championship. I celebrated like a person. I mean, because the big, it was a big goal. Winning the comfort championship is a big deal. And now it's not even going to be an option. Yeah. I will say this. Sorry for bringing up your favorite sport. Soccer. American kickball. European kickball. But one of the things that I do love about soccer is that there are different ways to get trophies and they do matter in that world. It matters to win your league. It matters to win the Champions League. It matters to win these tournaments. Right? The trophies matter. And I would love for trophies to matter here. Well, you can get a bowl trophy. Not that trophy. Not that trophy. I guess I'm arguing with myself here. But there are certain trophies that I think should matter. The Carabao Cup in Spain, I don't care about. That doesn't matter anymore. Even if you do win a conference championship, you didn't actually win it on the field. So does it really matter? The only trophy that's going to matter is the national championship. And that's the one everybody wants. But to say that, hey, you're in a conference and we're just going to assign you the conference champion. I just think they're missing something. But okay, remember, look, if you didn't care, and if you didn't celebrate and you weren't happy when A&M won the 98 Big 12 Championship, then tell me how wrong I am. But if you were excited and celebrated and losing your mind over that, and he got a touchdown, he got a touchdown, oh, doctor. Obey, the problem with what you just said there is everybody who saw that is now in assisted living. I'm on the way. You and I both know. Go to Sydney. Sydney kid. Pritchard, what up? Hi. Hey, you're at the Angry Elephant News and Social Center. Yes, I am. What do you have for us? I have some soccer news. I saw the results of the game last night. Texas A&M faced number six, South Carolina, and they won their first SEC point of the season last night. Let's go. It did end in a scoreless draw, but they put up a great fight, and junior goalkeeper Sydney Fuller made her first start of the season. Wait, wait, wait. I thought she said they won. Well, they got a point because it was a draw. They got a result. Yes, they got a result. That's how we call it in soccer, a result. Wait, should I go to the meetings? They got a result. They tied. A loss is a result. A positive result will be. If I needed another reason not to like soccer, I just found it. Soccer doesn't like you either. I know. I know. Moving on. Moving on, we have volleyball tonight here at Reed Arena. We're going to get a result. We are going to get a result. Hopefully, we'll get a win. Exactly. Number 19 Texas A&M Volleyball Faces. Number 6, Florida. That's a good team. Yes. But you know what? Jamie's home. Jamie's rested. The team is ready. And Kendall Stowers is coming off of 20 kills and 12 digs. Without even looking at your notes, you just memorized that. Look at you, girl. I've been trying. Let's do one more before we hit a break. One more. Well, baseball has an exhibition game against McNeese tonight. Yep. So that's at 7 p.m. at Blue Bowl Park. Bronisers are going to be torn. Bronisers are going to be just, you know, he's going to know everybody on both, in both of the dugouts. To root for A&M, to root for McNeese, to root for A&M, to root for A&M. And my answer is always, McNeese, spend for your check. Do you get paid to cover McNeese? Let's hit a break, Obi, shall we? Let's do. I can't go with you today. But you did. I have prior commitment. Okay, I understand. Rolling on the floor with a man. Anyway, at Brazos Valley MMA. And there's nothing wrong with that. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Little MMA action, not anything else. But I have an appointment with Joe Cirillo this morning. Anyway, you have a lunch date, if you will. Hey, Buffy is so good to us. By the way, I missed the little lunch yesterday. The catfish, bro? I wasn't here. But Buffy has been so good to us, providing lunches, of course, on Thursdays. He mentioned how much he would like to go to 1775 and try it because we've talked about how good it is, which it is. And I said, well, hey, let's go. My treat. So today, Buffy and I are gonna be heading down there at 11 o'clock. A Bupalicious experience at 1775? Heck yeah. I think I'm gonna introduce Buffy to that succulent brisket and those amazing pork ribs. Yeah. And how about some of those incredible jalapeno cheese sausage and the tasty turkey. I'm gonna be having the tasty turkey because I got some information from the old cardiologist that had made it better. You need to start having some tasty turkey. So I'm actually gonna have to pass on the queso mac and cheese. Did you pass on food when you were in Alabama? I actually, I actually did somewhat. My dog. Somewhat. Tell me, can you text me or send me a picture of this? Because I've been told that when Buffy eats, and when he's at 1775, he's gonna be doing curls as he's eating because the gun show is constantly flexing. Well, you know, I mean, they, like, if you get the sampler, you know, they load it up and so you could do, just hold that tray and do some curls. Yeah, I don't like your form. With that tray? My wife hates my form, too. Full extension, hey now. It is Buffy's Catering and Bartending 979-492-6241-1775, txpvq.com. It's good, by the way, OB. It's good, yeah, it's good, yeah, thanks. And we're back. We call it TexAgs Live. We're presented by David Gardner's Jewelers. We are in the Rollo Insurance Studio. It is the GO Hour, presented by The Warehouse at CC Creations. And finally, we're at the Holistic Landing. Cool Zone. Yeah, we are. OB., let's do a little match-up. Look, I am not excited about this game, but I am eager to see, I'm always excited to watch Aggie football. Let me rephrase that, okay? But I'm not like, because I just, I wanna, I'm not next year Nuño, I could be real soon, but I'm not there. I'm curious to see if it looks different in the five days they've been able to implement, what it could look like, and would they even try anything different against the Citadel that Alabama could prepare for? I don't know, but I want to see something different. I don't know if I'm gonna see something different, but that's what I'm asking for, OB. Yeah, well, I'm, I win. I fully expect that. Yeah, I do too. Listen, the Citadel is probably, I'm gonna say probably, the weakest team on any of them schedule. If Missouri State and Citadel played, I'd probably pick a Missouri State, right? So I think that the Citadel is the weakest team on the schedule. I'd expect the Aggies to score 50 plus points in this game. And if they don't, then I think that just raises even more questions about where they are and where they're going. Yep, yep, exactly right. Let's get into it. You have Marcel Reed versus who? Versus himself. I know that sounds like I'm being a wise guy, I'm really not. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but look, the Citadel gave up 322 passing yards to Charlotte. One girl and 255 yards to South Carolina State, 255. So if you can't pass on these guys as Texas A&M, then you're not throwing on anybody the rest of the year. Yep. Right? So Marcel, we've seen him last year, especially be an excellent quarterback. This year, he's been erratic. He's looked in the size of it sometimes. Sometimes he's had guys open and just missed them. I think we all think a lot of Marcel's issues right now are just mental. Yep. Was it Mike Oka earlier in the year said he had the yips or something like that. So I think it's just in this game, Marcel Reed needs to just relax against an opponent that they know they're better than and just play ball at a high level. And maybe this will be the launching pad of Marcel getting back to who he used to be. How about KJ Edwards? Yeah. KJ Edwards is going to be matched up. I'm going to say against that middle linebacker from the Citadel Zion Brown, who not only has a great name, but he's actually a really good player. He leads the Citadel 51 tackles. He's had an interception. He's had a bunch of tackles for loss. I think he's got three sacks. I mean, he's a very active linebacker. KJ Edwards is a guy that, look, some guys are going to have to help him, but the middle linebacker is going to make most of your tackles. So he's going to be looking for KJ Edwards. I think KJ Edwards, look, there's no reason not to start him. They started him last week against Missouri, and as bad as things were, he was still the leading rusher. But we've seen the explosive ability of KJ Edwards. We think that he's on the cusp of really breaking out, and this could be the game where he breaks out, but to prevent that, this guy Zion Brown is going to have to be active in making a lot of tackles. Let's jump ahead to the defensive front versus the Citadel offensive line. Well, look, Daggy's got a boost last week from Brandon Davis' swing, and they need all the help they can get up there. T.J.'s been, Cersei's been playing pretty well, but for the most part, you've seen a lot of guys that just aren't that productive, you know? They're just not making a ton of tackles and things like that, or at least they're not consistently productive, might be a better way to put that. The Citadel's line, they run the ball well, so they can obviously run block, and they run already on offense. They got a right tackle, and his name escapes me right now. I just wrote about it the other day. But he's a good player for them. So I just think that the Aggie defensive front, if they can control that line of scrimmage and keep the Citadel from having a big day running the football, because they've been over 200 rushing yards, I think, in like four of their six games. So do a good job, control that line of scrimmage, and then you can just shut down the Citadel. And then we're gonna close out with the defensive ends versus, I know you have Quentin Hayes written there, but I think they played two quarterbacks. Quentin Hayes seems to be the main guy. Yeah, he's their main guy, and he's very elusive. He's much more of a better runner, but he can throw it, too. I've watched one of their games against Charlotte, and he has escape ability, right? He does well on the zone read. If you're a quarterback running the zone read, who you reading? You're reading the quarterback. If you're the quarterback. If you're, oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, you're reading the defensive end. They crash, I keep it. They're watching me, I give it away. So the defensive ends are gonna have to make sure they have containment on this guy. So if he decides to keep it, he doesn't get a soft edge that he can get a lot of yards because he's really good at that. But also when you're rushing, when they do pass, you gotta have some containment because if he does scramble, he can pick up some big yards. He's a good athlete. All right, let's hit a break. We'll come back with pick six. We were atrocious last week. Billy was fantastic. I've been atrocious for three straight weeks. Once you hit first place and then you quit. I'm A&M since the Kentucky game. Wow. That's who you are. And I'm just A&M. It is what it is. Rallo Insurance. Okay, so starting off in Baton Rouge, number 16 Mississippi State heads into Tiger Stadium to take on number 22 LSU. At 11 a.m., LSU is the 14 point favorite. It's a big number, Olin. Well, is Kamariel Taylor playing? That's the question. They got a couple of players. Is Fluff Boswell out? Yeah. I think I'm going to look, because I suck at this game, it doesn't matter. I'm going to go LSU. I am too because if Kamariel Taylor is not playing, or if he's not at full strength, they're somewhat hamstrung. I don't know if it's hamstring or not. By the way, other than helping me in this game, I'd love to see Mississippi State win that game. Of course. Yeah, it'd be good times. All right, next game. The next game is at 2.30. Number 13 Missouri travels to Oxford against number 9 Ole Miss. The Rebels come in as a six and a half point favorite. I'm taking the Tigers, the Missouri Tigers on that one. I watched Ole Miss in their first game against Louisville. I'm saying, man, you can throw on these guys. Then it's been proven every week that you can throw on them. I think Missouri is more likely, Missouri, I think, is more likely to make an occasional defensive stand against Ole Miss' offense and Ole Miss' against the Missouri offense. I'll take Missouri and I'm going to pick the over, whatever that is. I'm going to take Ole Miss. Okay. I think when I start, when I like people or players, I just, I'm on the Trinidad Chambliss team, even though he's like 38. I'm going, I'm going Trinidad. I'm a big fan of Trinidad Chambliss, but I think, I don't see that Ole Miss defense stopping Missouri very often. Sid? Okay, one of the biggest games of the day is in Knoxville with number six Alabama visiting number 14 Tennessee at 230. The Crimson Tide are favored by seven and a half. Alabama all day. I think I'm going to take Tennessee, even though I think Tennessee is atrocious. I think playing at home, I think they keep it within a touchdown, and if not, good times. Alabama has a good defense. Not great, but good defense. Tennessee has a comatose offense. I don't see Tennessee scoring very much. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm going to take Alabama. Taking Tennessee. Okay, number two Notre Dame heads West to face number eight BYU. That one kicks off at 630 with the Irish favored by 10 and a half. I believe that LJ Martin is supposed to be out. Yes. So, Notre Dame doesn't take on a lot of teams, so I think I'm going to take Notre Dame in this game. Notre Dame has not been dominant this year. CJ Carr has been really good, though. That's tough. If LJ was playing, oh, what the hell, I'm falling like a rock. Give me BYU because I don't like Notre Dame. I don't care, Dilbia, if you're watching this, I know you're a domer, I don't care. I'm taking BYU. Dilbia is my sister-in-law that went to Notre Dame. And I'm taking the Irish. I'm taking the Irish, you're taking BYU. Yeah. Well, it sounded like you were taking the Irish. I'm taking the Irish. Taking them. Top of the morning to you, laddie. You can respond to that. Come on, try it, try it. Just try to do this. Top of the morning? Yeah, but with the accent, just try it. Try to be Irish. Just try it. So many accents today. I know, you're not gonna try, are you? Top of the morning, I can't. I can't. Irish and Irish guys say, we never say that. I'm part Irish, I think. Which part? Like, mother side or father side? Oh, I really have no idea. I think it's my dad's side, so, yeah. But heading to the next game. You totally appear like, please don't talk to me on that. Why are they doing this to me? I'm not trying to. Please just leave me alone. Just let me do my job. Okay, at 11 a.m., number four, Ohio State goes on the road against number five, Indiana. The Buckeyes are a three and a half point favorite. I think the Buckeyes are going to win, but I'm going to take Indiana. I'm going to take Ohio State to win by a touchdown or more. I think Ohio State is the best team in the country. They already got a loss, so they better be at their best. They were the best team in that game for three quarters. They are a talented team that is somewhat limited by their coach. It's not like how you say about the Cowboys and Barry Switzer was like putting a Sumo wrestler on Secretariat, but it's putting a fat guy on Secretariat. It's putting me on Secretariat. I'm a fat guy. Let's do the last game, shall we? We shall. Here at Kyle Field, the Aggies welcome the Citadel for a Noon Kickoff. Texas A&M is a 45.5 point favorite. You can? If you can't cover this one. I know they can't cover a lot, but I'm thinking that they're going to cover this one. So I'm going to take the Aggies, and I'm going to give 45.5. I'm taking the Aggies. My thinking here is- They gave up 42 points to Wofford. Yeah. What if they do put in a bunch of different plays? It shouldn't even matter, right? No. There's not a guy on A&M's roster that probably wouldn't start at the Citadel. And again, hey, Citadel, Pat Conroy is one of my favorite authors. Stump Mitchell was a great running back there. I like the Citadel. I cheered when you beat Arkansas. I was alive and watching at the highlights in the game. It was great. Luke Evangelist's dad, Mark, went to the Citadel. He's the best part of that relationship. I respect the kids that are going to be served in the Armed Forces. I love you, Citadel, but you're outclassed athletically in this game. Not only do I hope, I expect. I expect. It's at a break. We'll come back with Bank on it and maybe get somebody to do, ah, ah, ah, ah. Come on, yours is different. What's that? Nick has to do it. He said, Good morning, TexAgs. Love the show. So you guys are saying we have a chance, just like Dora from Finding Nemo. Just keep swimming or just keep taking the next right step. Mike the AC Guy. The only problem I have with any of that is that the name was Dory, not Dora. Dora was the Explorer. Dora was the Explorer with a great haircut. God, that girl's hair was awesome. My wife has a Dora-ish look about her. You've seen Dora the movie, like the actual movie? It looks like your movie. Since The Sun grew out of being like four, I stopped watching the cartoons. Did you ever watch The Backyardigans? Never heard of it, no. I've actually never seen it either. I've heard of it, though. Okay. I can picture them. What about the bald kid, Caillou? Come on, you watched Caillou. I did not. When I watch cartoons, it's still the classic, you know? Fog, horn, leg, I say boy. That is one accent you can do. OB, let's bank on it. Brought to you by our good friends at Vera Bank. Honest questions, genuine advice. Go see Joel Jackson and the team. Learn more, verabank.com. My friend, what are you banking on? Oh, I'm banking on 100 plus from KJ Edwards in this game. And I'm also banking on the Aggies to do the old Barry Switzer thing and hang a half a hundred on them. Half a hundred. I've got similar, so I'll expand. I put KJ Edwards has an explosive 50 plus yard touchdown. Okay. We've got to get some explosives, bro. If you're not going to do it in this game, it's probably not going to happen. And then the other one I put is more of a hope. QB is combined for four touchdown passes. Okay. Okay. Am I correct? No, no, no. No. No, it's not. And that's for the season in this game, by the way. It's yes, if you can't do it in this game, it's probably not going to happen. Yeah. Sidney, give us something else. Okay. Well, we just got a message from Jeff in Hutto. It says, what is the minimum? How do you say that? Hutto. Hutto. Hutto. Hippos. That's the mascot. The hustling hippos or hutto high? He said, what is the minimum number of full quarters you would want to see from Brady Hart this weekend? For me, it is two full quarters, and at least one of them needs to be with the first team offense. I don't know if I think of it in those terms. I'd like to see five, six drives. I'd like to see more than just Brady Hart play. We're at a point in the season, this is the only training ground you have left. How about if they went two with Marcel, unless Mike is not going to start him, but I think he is. A quarter with Brady and a drive with Brady, and then finish it up with Heleman. Kasuga. Kasuga. Or you could say, Heleman Kasuga. No, I can do it better. Heleman Kasuga. Heleman Morkos. Heleman Morkos. I have Morkos. How would you say Morkos' burgers? How would you say Marcel in your Italian voice? Marcel Reed. Marcelito Reed. I can't say it unless I do this. Yeah, you gotta do that. I go like Marcel Reed. Marcel Reed. Let's get one last text in before we end this hilarious GO Hour, at least for Obey and myself. Sydney. Nervous laugh. Let's go. I knew it was coming. Sydney. Okay. This one is about Brawny. It says Brawny will be facing his biggest nemesis, the North Wind. This is true. The North Wind is coming. Okay. You know what that means? No. Brawny always talks about it. Nick, how would you explain it, the power? Yeah. North Wind blows in from center field. So it stifles the offense. Y'all are already talking baseball. Okay. My bad. And we got basketball about to start. Yeah. So in football, basketball, start, but yeah, of course, let's talk baseball. Olin, I will see you tomorrow in the press box. I'll be there. Thank you, buddy. All right. All right. We're going to close out the GO Hour. Coming up next on TexAgs Live, SEC Mike, AKA NFL Mike, because he's not happy about the expansion of the playoffs. He thinks his NFL light. We'll talk to him about that. We'll talk about the A&M Citadel game, the rest of the SEC, Billy Liucci. After that, and the McKinney Brothers at 10 o'clock. You're listening to the world famous cesspool of shows, TexAgs Live, presented by David Gardner's Jewelers. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back into TexAgs Live, presented by David Gardner's Jewelers, Rallo Insurance Studio. As I told you, as I was preparing for the show, I was listening to SEC Mike and Cousin Shane, who's a huge A&M fan of losing games. And they were talking about the 2014 playoff, and Mike was not a huge fan of it. NFL Mike joining us here on the Bumpy's Catering and Bartending Hotline. Mike, how are you, buddy? Hey, doing great. Thanks for having me, David. Thank you. So we'll just start things off. You're completely against this, right? Yeah, I really am, because I just think it kind of destroys what is unique and special about college football, not the regular season. And we're giving out participation trophies, I guess, now. You know, you can lose four or five games, and you're fine for the playoff. But I guess, I don't even know who wanted this, but we're getting it. Mike, I don't know how I feel, because I think I'm, like most college football fans, like, I don't want to keep expanding the playoffs. And then I'm like, I didn't necessarily want them to expand the 12, and I enjoyed it. 24 seems a bit extreme. But I do think, like the interesting part, if you're in Oklahoma's position this year, or if you're even in A&M's position, not that I believe A&M is going to turn it around and win six straight games, but it does... There's one way of thinking of it, is like, these games still would matter, as opposed to, let's get on to the next season. Yeah, I mean, that's fair, but again, what are we rewarding? We're rewarding horribly pathetic teams at the midway point that they still have an opportunity. I mean, is that what we want college... That's what college basketball kind of... Do you watch? Well, I should buy... Yes, I do. I should put you on the spot. I know you guys cover college basketball, but the vast majority of us don't watch it until the tournament. And again, is that what we want college football to be? I don't think so. What would you do? I mean, honestly, Dave, I mean, I don't know that we've had a 12th team where it's like all 12 of these teams, I think they could win it all. I would even, I would have been fine with an 8th game playoff, or if they wanted to keep it at 12, I understand I would honestly prefer them kick out the mandatory G6. That way, if we're going to have the 12th best, put the 12th best in there. We don't need to put these, again, participation trophies out there for the bottom feeders that don't have a prayer to win this thing. But I would have left it alone. I mean, we've only been here for what, two, three seasons, and seems to be working out pretty well to me. Talking to SEC Mike here on TexAgs Live, Mike, do you care at all, or maybe you don't care about bowl games? And would you like to see them have some kind of substance? If you, in your world where you go to an 18 playoff, is there a way to make those bowl games matter again? Yeah, I mean, that's a fair question. And honestly, I don't really care about the bowls these days because they've just been kind of neutered to such an extent that they don't matter with the players not playing and coaches leaving. We have coaches now that leave before the playoffs. So they have devalued the games themselves. So if they're going to devalue it, I don't see how anyone else can rightfully honor them other than the sponsors. But maybe that's a way to keep them alive is to have these bowls be playoff games. But I think, which I don't think they ask the fans about anything anymore, but I think the fans would prefer home playoff games. I think that'd be a lot more special than having a Texas A&M game in the Chick-fil-A bowl. Talking to SEC Mike here on TexAgs Live. All right, Mike, let's look at this A&M football team, man. Just where are you with the direction you think that they're going? I mean, I hate to say it, but it just feels like a completely, like just a turn of a season. I mean, I've already looking at the next year. I don't think this could be salvaged. Again, I've been a Marcel Reed fan. I've questioned him at times, but I don't know how he's still playing, and it's nothing personal. I root for him. I want him to do well, but I'm just watching these games. And when we open a game and the first pass is in the dirt, it's like, what are we doing? And that may have been one of his better passes of the day. You know what I mean? Like it's so bad right now with Marcel Reed, and he's holding us back to such an extent. And I get it. I mean, these coaches are paid a lot of money. They know a lot better than I do of what they have behind him, but it's time to pull that trigger, or at least give someone else an opportunity, because we're not winning a conference game again other than Arkansas, I don't think, with Marcel Reed playing the way he is right now. So, did you get to watch any of the Missouri game, and what did you think of the defense? Because I know the stats at the end of the game, I don't think do justice to the way the defense played, and I have a method to my madness here, so I'm starting off with the defense, though. Yeah, defense, I thought, did a really good job, particularly with Austin Simmons early in that game. Forced his first turnover of the season, and for half the game, it looked like Missouri can only go as far as Austin Simmons can take him. I thought A&M was doing a really respectable job corralling him, but it seemed evident to me that Coach Strickwith in the second half said, well, heck, A&M is not going to beat us with this offense. So let's park the bus to use a soccer term, and let's just keep ground and pound and eventually the dam broke. But the defense is not the problem right now, but can you realistically ask them to go out there, possession after possession, game after game? And I mean, we're basically at the point where Oklahoma is, where you need defense and special teams to score touchdowns to win your games. And you can get away with that a time or two, but you're just not going to consistently be able to do that in the SEC. And I think the defense is going to wear down. Well, the reason I ask you about that is, if A&M is able to figure out some kind of offense, so the way I see it is, teams are not allowing A&M to run at all, because they know Marcel is in his head and he can't make these throws. So if they were to make a change for another quarterback, I don't know if it's going to be better, it might be worse, the offensive line's been a problem. But if they did, and the quarterback's able to get some kind of offense, I feel like A&M, with some kind of, remember they had three first downs entering the fourth quarter. If some kind of offense will have chances to win some games. But the big question is, if they have some kind of offense. No, I think you're 100% right. And I just, again, if they had the answer, I feel like they would have pulled that trigger already. And I don't know what in the world we're doing. And Coach Helco, his comments after the game, obviously, we haven't talked about that, but the whole world knows. That leads me to believe they don't have the answers, or they don't know how to fix this, because he seems to be like he's spiraling out of control. Yeah, it's the first time I've seen him look that way. But we at TexAgs have definitely moved on from that. I don't think he was talking about, I do believe him. I think, you know, to me, he's talking about social media and message board culture. That's kind of how I took it. But I still don't want him talking about it. No, I understand, totally. And I took offense to it for you guys, because you guys have always been great. Fans have been great. Aggies are the best people in the SEC. I can't tell you how many times, David, people have reached out to me and said, you know, I was not a fan. I don't like your stuff. But then I started listening to you on TexAgs, and I warmed up to you. And that's literally the only fan base that has reached out and said things like that. And that's happened a ton. So Aggies are great people. And again, I think that's a coach who is frustrated because he doesn't have the answers and he knows what they're putting on the field is just not acceptable. Talking SEC Mike here on TexAgs Live. Mike, what do you think about Missouri Ole Miss? I think when I was listening, you have Missouri with the upset, right? I do. I mean, I just think they're a little bit more of a complete football team. I think their defense is a lot better than Ole Miss, at least what Ole Miss has shown up to this point. Certainly, it's very difficult to bet against Trinidad, and it's hard to bet against Ole Miss, who I don't believe they haven't. They haven't lost a home game since 24, and that was a Kentucky game that, if you know the backstory, it's very entertaining. Kiffin and his girlfriend in Dallas there. But point being, I mean, they're tough to beat, but Missouri's just playing so hot right now. They can beat you. Obviously, with Austin Simmons, we talked about him, but Jamal Roberts is playing really well. And I think the biggest surprise for Missouri is that defense, that Aggies, unfortunately, know all about right now. Now, I know you think Alabama is one of the top three or four teams in the SEC, if not top two, but I think you have Tennessee potentially winning this game. Why is that? Well, Alabama just can't win in Neyland Stadium these days. I hate it for them. I really do, David, but they've lost two in a row up there. And yeah, they looked, I thought, really impressive even in the defeat to Georgia, because I do think Georgia is the best team in the conference. But I think Keelan Russell, I think they'll be able to rattle him. He's down without his security blanket. Ryan Williams will not be playing in this game. I think Alabama's defense is a little bit overrated. I'm not saying they're bad by any means, but we saw Georgia, what was it, third or fourth string running back, kind of tear into them there in the second half. But I just think Tennessee, second start for George McIntyre. He showed some things. He passed for over 200 yards, which is not great, but that's a lot better than what we've seen, basically, the entire year for Tennessee's offense. I think if they can get them a little bit more comfortable at home, not turn the ball over, I think Tennessee pulls an upset. I don't think enough people are talking about how good Tennessee's defense has been this year. I think they're gonna have to win this one. By the way, it seems like such a ridiculous question to ask right now based on what I've seen from A&M, but what are some weaknesses Alabama has for next week when A&M goes? Well, I mean the weaknesses are, they're banged up on the offensive line. That is certainly something I think that A&M could take advantage of and something that I'm hopeful that Tennessee can take advantage of this weekend. The secondary was billed to be one of the best in the country and they have not been that at all. You can really take advantage of Alabama in the secondary. They're allowing a ton of explosive plays, 20 plus yard plays on defense. So unfortunately, A&M, I'm sure you're well aware, they're not getting those. So next week, we'll see a team that can't generate big plays and one that can't stop it. Something's got to give in that matchup. But if I'm A&M and hopefully it is maybe a quarterback change or something, we can revitalize this offense, we can maybe. If we knew that Mississippi State was healthy, if we knew that Mike, would you still pick LSU to win convincingly? No, I wouldn't. But I just, I don't have much confidence in Mississippi State to put up much of a fight with key players injured or limited or maybe not even suiting up. I just wish we knew how available those players can Mario and what both will be. But I do think LSU is really good. I think they are obviously coming up short in games that really matter. I still think they can make the playoff. I don't think they will, but I still think a playoff team is in there, if that makes sense. And I think Lane Kiffin will showcase that on Saturday. Talking to SEC Mike here on TexAgs Live, presented by David Garner's Jewelers Rollo Insurance Studio. All right, Texas and Florida. Texas has not looked like a top three team, in my opinion, other than a couple of quarters. And Florida caught all the national attention, and then followed that up with eight really bad quarters of football. How do you see this one playing out? Yeah, talk about a unit that's struggling, going up against a unit that's struggling. The Texas offense, they are struggling in a big time way. And Arch Manning making a lot of key mistakes last week in Red River. But on the flip side, Florida's defense has just been abysmal. And if Texas cannot take advantage of this Florida defense in Austin, then we... I mean, I think we already got problems in Austin, but we'll have major problems, David, in Austin. I don't think it's to the point where we need to be considering mentioning Arch Manning or anything. But again, if he struggles in this one, we may have to have that conversation because special teams has been a disaster. The offensive line has not been what they build up to be. Sarkeesian's play calling is being questioned. There's a lot of issues with Texas right now. And I think you're 100 percent... I don't know how they got that number one ranking other than, let's honor they beat Ohio State, I guess. But as time goes on, I think we realize that's a little bit more of loop than anything. Mike, when you look at Texas and what's left on their schedule, do you see one more loss, two more losses? What do you see? At least one. I think Ole Miss is certainly one to watch. They got... At Missouri? Yeah, Missouri. I mean, at least one, David, but because... I know I just told them for getting hyped for beating Ohio State, but I do think there's a path for them. Now, they can't be getting destroyed, but if they lose a couple of close games, like they did Red River, and they have three losses, I still think there's a realistic shot that Texas makes the playoff because of that big win over Ohio State. So I think it will be very hard for them at this point in time to get eliminated from the playoff, but if they don't clean things up on offense, yeah, I guaranteed one loss, probably two. How do you see the Kentucky at Oklahoma game playing out and what do you think is the best-case scenario for Kentucky this season based on what we've seen so far? I mean, Kentucky looks like a completely different team. Shout out Will Stein. I think he's SEC coach of the year right now, if not national coach of the year for what he's helped do in Lexington there. Oklahoma, of course, got the big win last week in Red River, but they won by three and they scored 16 points outside of the offense. So I still question them. I don't question the defense, of course, but I question the offense and I don't think they can do this week in and week out. Now, if you could guarantee me they're going to get 14 to 16 points on special teams and defense, yeah, they may win out. But I like Kentucky, believe it or not. I think they've been the far better team this season. I really like Oklahoma fans. I don't think they have an elite home field advantage. I truly don't. Talking SEC Mike here on TexAgs Live. Mike, if you had to do tiers for SEC teams, kind of give me what you think your tiers would look like. You know, you don't have to give me every 16 team, but just kind of ballpark it. What tier one looks like, what tier two looks like to tier three. I think tier one, I think is clearly Georgia and Alabama. And that may be it right now. I mean, I think everybody else is kind of fighting for that next tier. And I would have Missouri, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss. Texas. That may be, you know, I guess I have to include them, right? But yeah, Texas, I would put it at that second tier as well. But I don't think there's much of a gap between two and three, I would have state, Tennessee. I mean, Florida, who knows? When they put it together, they're right there. But then dead last. I mean, in tier, I don't know how far you want to go down, David. If we go to like tier a million, I would put Arkansas and then just a notch above them is Vanderbilt. I don't see much difference between those two. Mike, you're headed to Knoxville, right? Yes, sir. I'm on my way right now. Enjoy your trip, buddy. Thanks for making a few minutes with us here on TexAgs Live. Absolutely. Thanks, guys. Thank you. SEC Mike, Michael Bratton here on TexAgs Live. We'll hit a break. We'll come back. I'm assuming it's just me and you, Sid, just chit-chatting away with Nick, of course, helping us out, and then Billy Liucci after that, I believe. We are still getting a few text messages. One that I noticed was a text message from Houston. And it's a basic issue with the Aggie football program right now is the serious lack of playmakers. Average football just isn't enough to win SEC games. All the teams have average and above average players. The great teams have playmakers who step up every game and refuse to lose. We need those type of players. Yeah, look. Here's my problem. How many freaking things do we need to fix? Oh, there's a lot less. I'm just saying, like, explosives is a big deal. Yeah. Huge deal. You got to get the ball to your explosive playmakers, though. You got to protect for your quarterback to get those balls there. Your quarterback has to be accurate. You have to be able to run the ball to make the defense confused. You have an offense that needs the quarterback to run also. You've played better when it's hurry up. You don't score points. You don't get first downs. That sounds like a terrible team, like what I just laid out to you. The frustrating part is we've known certain people in this offense have been very good before. We've seen Mario Craver put up a monster season. We've seen Marcel Reed put up a monster season. There is a lack of a running game, a lack of a line of scrimmage. There is, sometimes I don't see an urgency, and you've got a coach searching for answers. Look, I don't know. Who's the best actor of all time, or one of your favorite actors? Of all time. I'm just gonna give you an actor you probably don't know much about, okay? Because you don't watch real movies. Robert De Niro. Okay, yeah. Everybody knows Robert De Niro, right? Nick Savage. Robert De Niro, let's talk, you know Robert, right? Good friend? Yeah, he's a friend of the show. Yeah, good friend of the show. He's friends with Pablo. Anyway, let's talk about some of his iconic movies. Godfather II, okay? Raging Bull, Heat, Goodfellas, analyze this. The Intern. Pardon? The Whisper Man. These are, these sounds like a Bronx Tale. Bronx Tale, is he in Bronx Tale? Casino. Wait, Robert De Niro's not in Bronx Tale? Cape Fear. That's Chad's Palmetteria. Maybe De Niro's in it for a minute, right? Meet the Parents. Okay, so you. I'm just, I Googled, I Googled his, maybe he is in Bronx Tale, maybe I'm forgetting it. I just remember Chad's Palmetteria. But, The Intern sounds like a terrible movie. It's really, it's kind of like. It's a chick flick, right? Yeah, I'd say so, yeah. Of course I've seen that one. Is he the Intern? Yeah, the Intern. De Niro's the Intern in The Intern? Yeah, he is. He's a 70 year old Intern? Yeah, that's the whole point of the movie, is he's like an old Intern. All right, has Robert De Niro made bad movies, Nick? Judging by this, yes. Okay, known as one of the best actors of all time. Okay, fair? Yeah. Right? That's what the Google Overview says, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors of his generation. That's a good example. Okay, the script, how the hell did I get here, by the way? I'll work my way back, because I like talking about this movie now. Little Fockers. I said Fockers. That's on there too. I wanted to say that, but I wasn't risking it. Yeah. Meet the parents? Great. Meet the Fockers? Not so good. I didn't watch Dirty Grandpa. Well, I've seen that. Got to be terrible. Was that Efron? Yeah. Or Efron. Yeah. Terrible, right? I mean, it's really vulgar. It's definitely an acquired taste. Okay. Here's some other movies I've never heard. The Adventures of Rockin Bullwinkle can't be good, right? No, can't be. The War with Grandpa, is that part two? Probably. Okay. Freelancers? The Big Wedding, the Big Letdown, right? Like the big divorce of a movie. Like he's made terrible movies. How did I get here? Can you guys remind me so I can make my point? I was, I'm assuming you were trying to say, hey, even Robert De Niro makes bad movies. What I'm saying is, if you have a bad script, you can't make a good movie, right? Like you just can't. Tom Cruise, you can argue if you think he's a great actor or not. The guy is an iconic actor. He's good friends with Billy Liucci, by the way. Or he met Billy, sorry. He just made a movie that apparently is one of the worst he's ever, like, performing movies ever. Yeah, in years, yeah. Right, like I don't know what it's called, but he plays like an old man. Nobody wants to see Tom. People want to see Tom Cruise jack and fight people. Mission Impossible, like. Yes, even though those movies are terrible, in my opinion. But like, he just made a bad movie. So what I'm saying is, if you don't have the right pieces, it doesn't matter what you do, it ain't gonna work. But guess what? You can't pick new pieces right now, so you better make the most of this season. I, we're at the midway point, I don't have a lot of hope. I have wish, I have wishes, right? I have a wish that they, you know, let's go to a hurry up, let's do this, let's go. I don't care if we can zone option to death all day, like just something that, I think that they can make something work, and if they make something work, I'm not talking about scoring 38 points a game anymore, I'm just talking about getting first downs and maybe a couple touchdowns, that'd be nice. With your defense, do you have a chance? It says 27 points per game, 27 and a half points per game. What would that total be in the SEC, Nick? What do you think that number is? Let's ask him me to do math on the fly is not good, but 21, six and six. Okay. So, it's seven, sorry, 34 with Arkansas. Okay, so there you go. So 33, right? 21, six and six. Just let me add it up real quick. Hold on. 33, buddy. 33. 33. Yeah, that's, yeah. 11 points per game. It's not that hard. Am I right? Am I doing it right, Nick? You're totally, you're actually doing the math on account. Yeah, 16.7 points per game. Okay, 16.7 points per game. All right, that's not good. That's not gonna win. Why am I yelling at you? I'm not meaning to yell at you. Anywho, the point is, I do feel like there's going to be progress and this game against the Citadel won't give us anything. But, what could we hope for? What could we expect if we are... Because remember, the Arkansas game wasn't going to tell us much either, unless they lost. But they were like, dude, they were able to run the ball, bro. That talk show host is awesome when he talks about the way they run the ball. They ran the ball to death on Arkansas, or to life. And it didn't tell us anything going to Missouri. We knew that Missouri was going to stop in the run. Do we know how good Alabama is to stop in the run? I know they got a good defense, but do we know how good they are? Are they Missouri level good? Because that could be a major problem. All right, we'll head a break. I assume Billy will be here. I don't know. If not, we'll just talk about bad movies that Robert De Niro and Al Pacino have made. Right now we're talking Caldwell Country Chevrolet Highway 21 and Caldwell Online at caldwellcountrychevrolet.com. J84 sends in Waterworld, worst movie ever by a great actor. Do you know who the actor was in the movie Waterworld? Jay. No, it's not Jay. His name is Kevin Costner. You're familiar with his work? Oh, that's the guy. Yeah. Are you familiar with Kevin Costner? Yes. That means you're not. I could tell by the hesitation. Well, I don't know if he was in that movie with- Tell me, tell me, tell me. Whitney Houston. Yes, The Bodyguard. Yes. I just watched that movie recently. Great movie. It was so good. I don't know about great. It was really good. He's also, you've told me you've watched the show Yellowstone. I have not, but I've heard such good things about it. So I should probably. Not that we're going to do movie trivia here on TexAgs Live, but we were just talking about iconic actors with a bad script that made a bad movie. A&M right now has that bad script. Can they make something of it? I think there's been shows that they've done rewrites. I never watched How I Married Your Mother. How I Met Your Mother. Yeah, whatever. I didn't watch it obviously. How I Married Your Mother. It'd be awkward. Anyway, I never watched it, but I did listen to an interview with, his name is Lorne Michael, who made that show. He also made the show with Charlie Sheen and the other show. That show that was very popular with Charlie Sheen. You know, with Ashton Kutcher took over for him. You know what I'm talking about. Nick, come on, talk. Somebody tell me the name of the show. It was a famous show. Charlie Sheen. Oh, Two and a Half Men? Two and a Half Men. All right, the guy who made those shows, he talked about having to rewrite, because it just wasn't working, right? I know that, so with How I Met Your Mother, they had to rewrite the pilot. I was listening to an interview he did with Joe Rogan, and it just, they got it right, right? It wasn't working, and they got it right, and it became one of the biggest shows of that era. A&M is gonna have to keep rewriting their script for this season to work out. So there is that, and a lot of questions about Billy's interview with Marcel Reed. I haven't listened to it yet. I need to listen to that. I should have listened to it this morning. I'll ask him about that as he walks into studio. So let's get another text message. Chuck has something about A&M Rugby. Yes, Chuck said, Aggie Rugby plays TU at Hunsfield in Austin at 6 p.m. today. OK, shout out to them. And let's see, Chuck, you always represent the Aggie Rugby club team. So and I saw them playing the other day as my boys were playing. Billy Luci in studio. Hello, young William. David, how's it going? It's going well. Are we about to? We're not. We're about to go in assault. I'm not. I got to go change shirts. I'm blending the blender. They've got me in a blender over here. We get it. Look, there's a head and some hands. Look, there they are. I'm getting some text messages about your interview with Marcel. I haven't listened to it yet. How did he how did he how do you do? I just it's just. I'm sure he would have probably rather not come in. I felt like this is perfect. This is the perfect time to interview. But he came in, he was scheduled and he came in, you know? So I credit him for that. But credit him. It was just not it wasn't, you know, he's down, man. Just like they all are to me. Like I was interviewing, you know, a guy that was just he's struggling through it. Like fans are like you can imagine what the team is in the quarterback. But I thought he'd sit there and try to answer the questions. And I knew how everyone was going to analyze it. He was good, bad and ugly and kind of like, you know, I don't think he, I think it sounded from the comments like everyone wanted him to say, you know, I'm exaggerating, but it felt like they wanted to say, I'm the worst, I'm the problem. Morgan Wallen. Just played that Morgan Wallen, I guess. But, you know, he just, it was, it was, I think some of it was generic, like we got to do this and that. And he mentioned penalties and I think people took that they mean that he was blaming the penalties more than himself. I can tell, like, he's, you know, he's fighting through it. So I was asking him just kind of how was his, how was his leadership been put to the test this year, you know, in terms of how he carries himself, how he, because it's, it's a, it's not a fun time. It's not a fun thing to talk about, but I think it does prepare them for, you know, any of the guys coming in here after losses. As the season's going like this, A, if you're a young player, B, if you're gonna play at the next level, whatever, it helps. And I think it helps them anyway to come in when it's not always going good and be professional and come in and talk and do, you know, you see guys in the NFL and NBA that don't do that. They either no show or they do like Cam Ward and they're like, you got three minutes and that's what a lot of these young guys see. So I do anytime any of them walk in here after a loss, we would say, well, they got contracts and but it's still, you can easily cancel. In your head, I'm just gonna do it at a different time. So I'm glad that the thing didn't devolve in the comments and so people can all have their opinions. Obviously, we do these interviews so people can break down what they thought of the interview. You got body language experts, you got people parsing what they say. That goes with any interview by an athlete ever, coach, ever when the team's not doing well, the player's not doing well. And then there were the people that got really upset because him coming in, they thought, proved that he was starting against Citadel, which I believe he is anyway, but he still would have come in. You know, we have backup quarterbacks on here too. If Brady Hart's on the schedule, he'd come in. And what would have been really interesting is Brady would have been on the schedule this week and come in and everyone would assume that he was starting and it wouldn't have. I mean, he could have, but it wouldn't have meant because he's on the schedule. There have been guys that have come in here that I've interviewed that I thought may be in the back of my mind, maybe they don't mean, and they don't start. Like it happens. The schedules are done prior. So I'm surprised you thought that. Kaylee Dreyer must not let you in on her process. But, you know, even when somebody else was like, oh, Elko did this to, you know, like I forget what the reason is, like they sent him in here to do the, no, that's not even how it works either. So point being to go into that route. I still think Marcel's going to start Saturday, regardless of what people like. I'm just telling you, like if you want to know, like that's what I think is going to happen. I've always thought that. And then, you know, I think this is where it gets interesting over these next couple of weeks. How much does Brady play against, you know, Citadel tomorrow? I think for a year, I've been saying Samford. Because it's the same thing. Last year. No, but they're the same thing. They're in the same conference. They're like the, you know, like Citadel is probably a little better than Samford. Samford was where they had won in 11 last year. They're terrible. Two and 10, 0 and 12. Yeah. So, sorry, Bucky. Your football team sucks. But I thought, you'll see tomorrow. You're going to see hopefully. I mean, either way, you're going to see multiple quarterbacks because it's not going well. And if you're like, okay, that's it. Yeah. But I don't think that's going to be the case. I really don't. I think you'll see a lot of Brady in the second half. And then unfortunately, it might be the flip side a week later in Tuscaloosa. I mean, that's it. You really hope that this A&M defense continues to trend up because they're going to need every bit of it. But I don't expect, just we're sitting here today, things to go well in Tuscaloosa. I've been there for 59, nothing. I've been there for a win. I've been there for a close loss. I think this, I've been there for two close losses, actually. I think this one, I don't think 59, but I do think they're going to have a hard time keeping pace with them. So that's when it would get, I think, a little more interesting with a bye week after that. I've always looked at it that way. And again, you can disagree. I'm trying to predict and look at things and go, he's got to show a lot of progress. These next couple of weeks, including against a really good defense in Bama, which I think is tough. But anyway, the interview, I thought if you're listening, if you're just wanting to hear and say, people were getting kind of mad because he was talking about having fun, I brought that up. Because I still don't think they're doing that. I'm looking at, I brought up things like pressing. He and the whole offense look like they're pressing from moment one. And it's like, I've seen mixed reviews on whose fault the interception was. I don't care. I blame the execution of the receiver, the quarterback, the OC for calling it in that situation, knowing your players' limitations, knowing the importance of... Two of these three losses, they've done this where they've had a nice... Well, that wasn't a nice drive. They had a great defensive play. Great field position. Great field position. But two of the three games, Kentucky included, you had a chance to get an early lead. You had a chance to score right off the bat, and you went for it on fourth down. And that was one where I thought Marcel, if he'd have pulled it, Houston Thomas walks in for a touchdown. And in this one, I would have like third down first of all. If you wanted a fourth down, you could. But just something besides that. Timing, accuracy, receiver and quarterback being in sync, both of them doing exactly what they've got to do. That's not your strength right now. So, and especially when you see your team and you know that this team desperately needs to start out well. Because mentally, they're not here right now. Mentally, they're struggling through it. And I think Marcel is as high up on that list as anyone. And there is something where he needs something to go good for him. And I'm not saying you hold out and go, man, maybe against Oklahoma. That's not why. He's got to earn, you know, he's got to prove that he deserves to remain on the field at some point. And I think, you know, we're getting closer and closer to that point, as everyone knows. But to do that, like, is he going to have one of these sellers games like sellers did here for three quarters? I feel like he will at some point. But to do it, it's got to be a game where you start out good. Yeah. So Saturday, like, let him get the touchdown, get that field goal when you get the great field position and be up 10-0 on the road and make people go, oh no, we're having a letdown. They put no pressure on the other team. And part of that is because, how can you put pressure? You're a fighter, Nuño. You're a cage, a renowned cage fighter, right? Pretty good at what I do. If you are, if this is true, if you are pretty good at what you do, you're not defensive, you're not on your heels probably. You're attacking, you're proactive. You're proactive, you're taking the fight to them, you're confident. These players and I think the play callers and this team, nothing about them is confident playing forward on the attack, being the aggressor. And it hasn't been that way really all season. Really, if you go back to Arizona State. We saw that and then we're like, okay, that fourth quarter could have been the wake up call that they needed. They looked really good. And that was the fool's gold. That was a mirage. They are who they were in the first three quarters of that game, which is they were in a dog fight with a middle of the pack, big 12 team. Billy the pulling guard. Yeah, they are. The pulling guard. You're right. They are pulling guard. All right. Well, they might have a new pulling guard this week, Sam Roseborough, the young offensive lineman. He played a lot against Missouri, and I thought it looked really good. He's a true freshman. All right. We'll hit a break. They're going to be open noon to 7 to have some NFL football to start off your week right. So un-reign, shout out to Jay. Awesome place. All right, Billy, we've only got about three minutes here. 2014 playoff, yay, nay. What do you think? I'm done like, you know, crying about these things. They're going to make college football the way that I and most of us don't like it. I do think if there's any coaches celebrating it today that are sitting there going, well, now I'll get in the playoffs and I'll get these bonuses. I think, you know, what's really going to happen is if you're a coach in power four, then you miss a 2014 playoff two years in a row after you get established, like they'll give you a couple of years there. By like your three, if you go two years in a row without making that playoff, you're probably fired to power four level. I mean, at least in the SEC and big 10, like as an AD, that would almost be my policy. Like you guys wanted all these playoff team? There's 20 freaking four of them get in or get out. And so I don't, you know, I wasn't in favor of it. I think 12 was plenty. I think 12 was a nice number. Again, the 22nd ranked team's not going to win a national title. I think it takes away or it's going to take away from these early season games. And someone made a good point. Like, yeah, this looks all good. When you put these matchups on paper, it's like, oh wow, how cool. Look at, imagine a weekend of these games. You were generally getting that anyway, that first weekend with the championship games. Oh, but they don't mean anything. I don't care. I got to watch Alabama and Georgia play. Some of them do mean a lot. I got to watch Indiana and Ohio State play. A couple years ago, Oregon, Ohio State. You know, it's Clemson in Miami, whatever. I know last year was Duke in Virginia. I get it, but you know what I'm saying? It's typically like a great weekend of football anyway. But I think it's gonna take away from the early season matchups, and I think teams are gonna continue to gravitate away from playing any one of significance early. Also, it diminishes Bama, Georgia this past week. Like, Texas OU, it doesn't matter as much. You're like, it's okay, we're gonna get in the 2014 playoff. I hate it, I despise it. I hate and despise a lot of what's happening in college football now. But if you're Oklahoma or A&M today, you're thinking the regular season does still matter to us because we can creep our way back into it. Okay, say hello to college baseball or college basketball. I like that, I don't need that in my football. I don't want it, I don't desire it as an A&M fan. I don't want it, I don't want to be Seth. And we're back. It's TexAgs Live. What's up? Hey buddy. What's up Seth? Hey Steve. Hey David. We'd like to introduce you all to last place Seth. I'm telling you last. I've been last place as well. Oh man. The walrus has reared its ugly fins. Flippers, fins, whatever they are. This is The Final Countdown with Steve and Seth McKinney. And Billy Liucci presented by Game Day Sweets Aggieland, a luxury game day oriented ownership concept designed specifically for Aggies, businesses, families and fans who want a permanent home base for football weekends and entertaining in Aggieland. Check out gamedaysweets.com. Gentlemen. Good read. Thank you. Sometimes I do slow down when I read sometimes. Let's start off with the state of Aggie football this week. Steve, you start us off. Oh, great. Thank you. Happy birthday, by the way. Oh, yeah. Happy birthday. We forgot Steve's birthday yesterday, as usual, because we're not on Facebook like him looking for stories on how Mike Elko has fostered 17 orphans from Caldwell. Yeah. No. Let's talk about the state of affairs. Well, first of all, I mean, things aren't good right now. I mean, it's it's it. We're in a rough spot. There's no question. I mean, you look at you look at where we're at as a team. And then I can't help but go back to like the spring and the fall. You know what I saw with my own eyes, Billy, you know, we were out there at practice multiple times together. I didn't see this coming. You know, I mean, I looked on the field. I thought we had the talent, you know, and all I can see when we're watching these games is a team of a lot of really good athletes that are not playing very well as a team. And then you got some of your leaders that are supposed to be like your captains, your leaders that are not performing at the level that they're capable of. So when that happens, I think you get the product that you're seeing right now. Does that mean that we can't change that? Does that can they not improve? Absolutely, they can. You know, I mean, we're, we've already got three losses. You have two options now. You can throw in the towel and go, you know what, season's over, we're not, we can't make the playoffs. Or you can, you can look at each other in the locker room, have enough pride to go out there, practice like champions, and make the product on the field better. And go out there and get some momentum going through the rest of the season. You don't know what could happen, first of all. Secondly, you've got to do your best as a team to put this program back in the direction it should be going. And if I'm a senior, if I'm a leader on the team, that's where my mindset is. It's not even about, hey, we got to go try to get into the playoffs. It's about, we got to restore this program to where it was, you know, eight months ago. That's what my mindset would be. And how hard is that when you're an individual and it's a locker room, I mean, I don't know how they're practicing right now. I don't know how, you know, where the effort is, where the, cause there is a world where they're practicing really hard and just, they just can't get it going, right? You gotta have a guy. There's gotta be someone on this team that steps up. But does there? Cause it doesn't seem like there's been, that's what I was getting at. So let's say, how hard is it to be one player that says, man, I'm tired of this. Cause you always hear that, oh, it takes one. I don't think it takes one, but it starts with one, right? But like, it doesn't seem like there's any of that to get going. So if you're in that kind of, in the doldrums, how hard is it for Seth McKinney to speak up enough to make a difference? No, I think you have to, like you, you got to create like a ground swell or something. You don't just like start talking to the whole team. It's not one. Day one. Yeah. You got, you talk to, you build a coalition or whatever, or if it's a group of offensive linemen or a unit or whatever that takes control and it takes the lead of a situation. It also can come from the top too. It can start at the top and it can work its way down. You mean coach or quarterback? Yeah, coaching, coaching. Where you like, whoever it is, Elko, position coach, whatever, gets their guys or gets one guy. I'm like, hey man, get this going. Be this tip of the spear. We need you, man. We need you. And I'm sure that's happening, right? You know that hopefully that's happening over there. And yeah, that means, you know, overall Steve's right. It's a sad state of affairs and something's got to change. And the way football is now a day, it's a quarterbacks game. That's the reason they make the highest, most money on any team, NFL, college, whatever. It is what it is. And it starts with Marcel. We love it, hate it, whatever. It starts with him. He's got to be the guy that does whatever he's got to do to fix what's going on with him. He's got something going on. I'm not trying to be critical of the guy. He gets paid a lot of money so I can talk about him. We could anyway. We're analyzing. No, I'm just saying. I'm just saying even in previous years, every quarterback that's been through has dealt with this. He's got something going on and if it's not him, they got to start doing something. They got to alternate series. I don't care. You got to create something. You can't just keep it the same. I don't care if it's going to be awful with anybody else other than, I'm not going to say whoever. Anybody else other than Marcel, if it's going to be awful, it can't be worse, because it's been awful. So they have to do something. I don't know what that is, but you got to do something. The amount of pressure that's on Marcel right now, I mean, he's got to be putting it on himself, but he's got to be feeling the weight of the whole program on him. That is a lot for any kid. You're right, he is getting paid, but he's still a kid. I don't know how old he is, but he's still a kid. He still has a big responsibility as the quarterback for Texas A&M, and he owes it to himself, to the fan base, to the coaches and to his team, to perform at a level he's capable of performing, and he hasn't been doing that. We've seen him play. I mean, we saw him last year for 10 straight games look like a Heisman Trophy candidate. We have not seen that guy since the Texas game last year. He's in there somewhere. I don't know who it is that's gonna pull it out of him, but somebody needs to find it. If we can get him back there, we'd be a lot better off. You both just said what I've been in between on the whole time. It's funny that you're sitting on each side of me because I'm like pulled one way and pulled the other. Yeah, he looked that way with a ton of NFL talent around him and NFL offensive line, but he also, he was a different guy. That quarterback would be playing much better this year on this team. That exact same person, the same guy wired mentally, he just wouldn't have quite the numbers of success because the Olin, that has all played into this for sure. No Concepcion, they don't have a weapon like Boricatier. Yeah, had half the year with Moss in the running game, but he still would have been much better. Even with all that, if he'd been that same guy, he's not the same guy. There's a lot of guys on this team that to me are not the same guy, but it's like Seth said, it starts with the quarterback. They do this to me every time. I don't think it's time to make the change, I think it's coming quickly. I just look at the schedule, I look at what you're trying to find out, what you're trying to hold on to, which is if we're going to win any one of these games, much less even two of them, it's not going to be with anybody. It's not going to be with current Marcel, it's not going to be with the other guys. In fact, what if they think with the other guys, they're going to lose a bunch of games, 59 to zip versus 10 to three at halftime. I don't know. But can I say this is the real quick? Well, let me finish because, wait, wait, wait, because people will take- Start somebody, be able to rotate or something. I agree with that. I agree. Give somebody a- Just to come out and just say, you need to relax and watch this for a minute. And if you watch this- Because, Seth, both of y'all been involved with quarterback changes, correct? Am I wrong? Yeah. You were Brandon and both- Were you Brandon and Randy or no? No, I was. You were. I think I was. I don't know if it happened two years, but I know it happened. Were you Ferris to- I was Brandon and Randy, and then I was not Ferris and Dustin. No, okay. So, my point is, you gotta be worried about what damage are we doing to a young quarterback or a starter to take him out. I talked about this yesterday, when you took, or with Zane, when you took Connor Wigman out, you could tell Elko New, like, when I do this, he's done. He's done, yeah. But where are we at with Marcel? Well, if Marcel doesn't get better, both sides are going their separate ways. We all, I mean, it's common sense. It's, I'm not, it just is what it is in college football. So, yeah, if he's struggling in a game, whether it's this weekend, but more specifically, I think you can do the back and forth thing for a few weeks. I don't think that's as taboo as it would be if you're trying to, hey, this is our guy of the future. I don't want to mess him up and crush his confidence by taking him out, because I'll never be able to put him back in. That's just not college football anymore. Yeah, and especially for this team at one and three in the SEC when you look at the rest of the schedule. I'm with you on that, but I'm also of the point where it's like, a couple weeks from now, I think it's a completely different conversation. So I said earlier on the show, there's a thread about this is why I'm bringing it up, that we have seen Marcel put up some monster numbers. And I think people heard me wrong thinking I was talking about this year. I was not talking about this year, but we have seen Marcel do monster numbers. The Arkansas game, South Carolina game, Notre Dame game. His first game ever. Florida. Florida, LSU, Missouri on the road. We have seen that level of him. It's just Florida at home. It's been, what, seven straight, you know? I mean, it is fair to say it's in there. It is also fair to say, looking at what's coming up and the replay this season. It's hard to get back against these teams. The odds do not favor that happening. It would almost be like a Lenora Sellers from last year when he came to Kyle Field and was like, oh, this guy's gonna show up now. He might have a game like that, but it's hard to, just like South Carolina wouldn't have predicted it. I would also say that if you do decide at some point you do need to make that move, I think the smartest thing is, like Seth said, if you start out with a rotation, like it's going into the game, you've said, Marcell, you got the first two series, next guy up, you got the next two, we're gonna rotate it. You do it like that, and then whoever's got the hot hand, you stick with them. But when you just pull a guy and put the other guy in, you risk ruining both of them. Because the other guy may not be ready, and the guy you're pulling is gonna shut down. That's what I'm saying. That's my suggestion. Just to pre-determine. Yeah, because you're there, you're already there right now. So like, look, this is just a straight, this is what we're doing. I wouldn't hate that. You haven't performed like the way you should perform. We're gonna give him a chance, and I wanna see what he can do. And then you see, and then everybody sees, you see, the coaches see what can happen with live bullets, meaningful bullets, and there we go. I think you're right when you say everyone sees it too, because there is an understood angst and frustration. And you don't, and this is a weird week to be saying this because of Elko's comments on Saturday, but you don't base your playing time, personnel decisions on what the fans want. Oh, never. But if it makes sense and it kind of opens everyone's eyes, it can kind of take away from, I think, some of that cloudiness around it all, some of the frustration, the tension in everything. You don't base any, don't get me wrong, you don't base any decision on that. But I do think that would be a byproduct of the way you're talking. Billy, remind me what it felt like, because Swope was in here talking about, I think, 2010, when they started off three and three, they made the change from Tannahill, and they won six straight. What did it feel like, the discussions leading up to that, because at that point, Tannahill was playing wide receiver. Been a lot of the same stuff. I've gone through this a million times, and it's been times where it's been, like everyone could go back and go, see, we were right, we should have changed, and there were times when they weren't right, and then everybody, no one brings that up again. Or it could be a quarterback, and everyone wanted to bench Kellan Maughan for the longest time, and he ended up finishing out with one of our better seasons. He had a great season. And he did have to come out at the very beginning of his career, they were about to lose to Nichols State. They were in a dog fight with Nichols, his first ever star, and they brought in Hubenac, and he finished the game. But I've seen it with, there was the Kenny Hill to Kyle Allen thing, then there was the Kyle Kyler, there was the, man, there was the Starkels Mon, and then Starkels, Starkel came back, people forget, Starkel came back from injury and took the job back from Kellan that year, and finished out in that bowl game where he threw for a million yards, and they still lost, because it's just where they were at. And then you had Ferris Long to Reggie, then you had, man, there were so many. You had Reggie to McGee, you had McGee to Jerrod, you had Jerrod to Tannehill. Now the difference is, and then there was the Haynes King, Max Johnson, Connor Wigman, Zach Calzada Shuffle, which those were fun times, because everyone thought the next guy was the best. But that deal you're talking about, Reggie sprained his ankle. McGee came in and won everybody over. He was badass against OU in Texas. Jerrod was hurt, shoulder. So that was a little more, Reggie hurt his ankle, McGee hurt his shoulder, Jerrod took over, McGee came back for the Texas game, and then Jerrod was hurt, clearly hurt, kind of career-ruining injury, and then in came Tannahill. And by the way, speaking of Tannahill, the one thing you had that year, and this team doesn't have it, they had elite defense, that was peak Von Miller, that was Von Miller taking over college football, and you had an offensive line. The biggest change was in certain Matthews that start line up and Jokell hit in his stride. You had two true freshmen, one named near Hall of Famer, the other one in number two picking the draft. You had a running back that was the best in your conference. All of a sudden Cyrus had 120 yards every game, 200 yards, 250 against Texas. So what of that do we have? What does A&M have to lean on if they made it? Any change to the offense? What change is there for them? Because Mike Sherman said, we're gonna put in these badass young linemen, and I'm gonna change quarterbacks, and I'm gonna feed the ball to a running back 25 times a game, and we're gonna lean into the best running game in the Big 12. I don't see any of that available. Well, the question is like, I'm not letting the offensive line off the hook either. They haven't done what they needed to do to solidify the pocket. But I don't know if you have those guys or not. I don't. And Marcel, to his credit, you gotta be able to step up when it's there. I mean, he's got his running back and getting 15 yard losses or whatever they are in certain situations. He has to have the ability to step up into the pocket, which I'm not saying that he hasn't had, because he has it. I'd rather him take a sack in the pocket. Yeah, I know. Four yards. Seth, if you go back and look at the Arkansas game, he looked very decisive in that game. When he dropped back, if the first read or whatever wasn't there, I mean, he was pulling, if he had a lane, he took it. And he went and got positive yardage, and you could see his confidence building in that game. That's the only game he's done that in. The rest of these games, you see him in the pocket, he's going back, he's scrambling backwards, he's getting happy feet, seeing ghosts. And then you just fall apart as a quarterback. There's no way you're going to have a good game as a quarterback. The second you start getting happy feet, it's over. It's got to be like one option to go for him. I agree. I mean, I think we're at that point. But it doesn't seem like that either registers or happens, or if it doesn't seem like that's what they're willing to do, I don't know which one it is. Well, you got to let the kid be who he is. And he is not Tom Brady, he's not a pocket passer. Put him in play action situations, bootlegs, move him around, move the pocket. By the way, but I'll say this, I personally, and you could tell me I'm wrong here, but I think his accuracy and the way he throws is much worse when he's on the run. I think where he's best at it is when he breaks, contain and create. Then you got guys coming back to you that you have a lot of space, and or he takes that, he scrambles, stops and goes over the top. I mean, he's made a couple of nice throws scrambling out of the pocket. He's scrambling, but I think the design rollouts and the design, let's get him throwing on the run, that sprays all over the place. I don't think that's his strength. It could be right. That's a tough ask. Do you agree though? I do agree, but that's a tough ask. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, for sure. The Final Countdown with Steve, Seth, Billy, presented by Game Day Sweets Aggieland. You were going to make fun of somebody? No, I just, not you, before you go, Teevo. Defensive for once. Defensive Teevo. All right. It is, people that aren't privy to the breaks, I'm sitting next to the Roadster brothers over here, like you guys are the perfect target market for anything new, technology. I'm sorry, you don't like American exceptionalism. Yeah, yeah, that's it. Yeah, just like you and the mini did. That was American exceptionalism. Seth was the first one. Seth's just a sucker for anything that you can put new technology in front of. So we're talking about the Tesla that drives upside down and flies or whatever it is. And yeah, you're gonna be the first one to buy it. 100%. I was nervous. And you're gonna be second. I may be first. Weren't you a big Hummer guy? Oh, I had an H1. Like right off the bat. You probably got it off the assembly line. Yeah, absolutely. After Arnold bought it, as soon as I saw Arnold had it, I was like, I need that. Did you want to talk about the 2014 plan? Yeah. Sure. You know what, I was wanting to say... I was asking him, because he brought it up during the break. Oh, I'm like, what made you say that? Because he said, I don't even know what to say. I was like, we're gonna talk about this kind of big deal. I was caught between whatever they were talking about, Elon Musk. Sorry for being a good host and listening to what the guest was. That was the best line of the day. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. And I don't know if it's just me, but everybody seems like so anti this 24 team playoff. And I'm in my mind, I'm going, how could you hate the idea of more meaningful games at the end of the season? Like to me, that's a great thing. It's great for college football. It's great for A&M. I mean, let's not act like we're finishing in the top 12 every other year. Lame. In fact, I would love to have a chance at my playoffs. Let's throw a parade. Let's hang, let's print cups, hang a banner, da da da. We're finishing the top 24. So what? At least you're playing a meaningful game. My ass. Do you want to get a little depressed though? Like the Cotton Bowl was meaningful back then when y'all played in it. It's just as meaningful as a first round 2014 playoff. It's a one game meaningful. Wait, so you're anti-24? Yes. Oh, come on. Yeah, he's one of these guys. You know what was meaningful? A&M Notre Dame gets a free pass. I don't cry about Notre Dame. I do. I don't like what their setup is. But what was meaningful to me was game one at Kyle Field, A&M Notre Dame. What's meaningful for me was A&M going to South Bend last year. When me and you and Christian are sitting around the TV, hanging on the outcome of Ohio State, Texas, that's meaningful in September. Why would you think those are not going to still be meaningful? Because they're not. Yeah, they are. They won't even play them. Those games aren't even going to be played anymore. They weren't going to play with a 12-team playoff. Exactly. They were already dropping this series. But with 24, there's still a chance you would keep those games. You're saying because the damage is less. I think it's the opposite. I think teams will just avoid it and go, we're just going to cruise into these playoffs and that's what we're playing our season for. And they're already out there. Oh, like Texas Tech? Yeah. Okay. It's going to do that every year. Every year in the crowd. Every year some two big crappy big 12 teams are going to be at the top. You don't like reality, Nick, because that's reality. I know it didn't have to be. It didn't have to be. But it is. The leadership or lack thereof led us there. Greg Sankey did not want it. Contrary to what people think, he did not want it, but he had no choice. Even as the SEC Commissioner. What, with the nine games or the 24? The 24. Even as the SEC Commissioner, he just couldn't stop it. Because a lot of the coaches in the league wanted it. You know why they want it? Because they want playoff appearances and bonuses. Because like Steve, they get fooled into thinking that means a successful season. I'm to the point. It doesn't mean, Jack, you know what, to me, that Aggie baseball makes the postseason. It doesn't mean, Jack, you know what, that you make the NCAA tournament in basketball. Because if you don't, neither of those, you shouldn't come. You do realize we would have made the playoffs three times in the last hour. That's not true. I know you read that. I do. No, you saw it on the Internet. It's true. It's wrong. It was on my Facebook. Because whoever did that was doing the end of season rankings. And so people get fooled because you saw it on Twitter. Guess what? It fooled me. It did, it got you. But here's the deal. It would be, what are the rankings after the first week of December? Because it's before the championship games. So A&M would have actually been in the playoffs. I think somebody that actually followed up said six times. Six times. And here's the thing. Since we've been in the SEC since 2012, how many A&M football teams would y'all say were good teams? On the first two. Three. The second one you thought was good? One of the worst defense in the history of A&M football. Four in the SEC? I get what you're saying. I mean, Johnny and Mike were incredible. I get what you're saying. Four teams. Name them. 2012, 2013. We were a good team. I'm with Steve here. We lost some close games. We were a good team. We were a good team. We barely lost to Alabama. I agree, but you lost, yeah. Okay, I'll let y'all have that one. 2020 and last year. Four, that's my four. I'll let y'all have the one where we did go four and four in the SEC. We were 500 in the conference. But we cheated against Auburn. We almost beat Alabama. We were a good team. You had one of the worst defenses ever, but you had one of the best offenses ever. So four times in 15 years, and you would have gotten a couple other playoff births not even being any good. I don't even know which teams those are, but like, I just. I mean, I don't understand this thinking though. Can I say something? Yeah, but my standard would be, because I'm passionate about this. Your standard sucks. No, it doesn't. My standard is higher. Your standard is like, if you can't win a championship, I don't even want to watch you play. You wanted to go to the playoffs in 96 when y'all went six and six. Yeah, I think I do want to go to the playoffs. Yeah. Because it's fun. Being in the playoffs is fun, Billy. But you've proven you had 12 games to prove it. So what? So you'd rather go watch a crappy bowl game than any of them in the playoffs? No. Twenty-five teams is not too much. I don't think it is. I think it is. I think with a non-game SEC schedule. Here's the other thing I think about that. We need it. If you're going to do a 2014 playoff, my bar for success is win a damn game and at least finish in the final 12. I know y'all's standards is you want to finish in the top 25 and you consider that a raging success. Mine is to at least win a game. I just want to watch a meaningful game at the end of the year that could lead to another meaningful game. That's all I'm saying. I like a meaningful game in September. Do you hate March Madness? I want my team to be playing in the second weekend to feel like it was a truly successful run. And I would agree with that. Except for like the first year. I don't disagree. No one's saying that everybody should get raises every time you make the playoffs. I also don't like college basketball from the fact, I don't like the fact, David, that I don't give a rat's ass about an individual game in December. And I don't like the fact that my team can lose to Prairie View in November and still make it. I don't like that. I'd rather than be good enough to, I'd rather have the pressure to know, I can't lose to McNeese State in game two and reach the playoffs in this sport. But that's like saying the NFL's got it wrong. They got 32 teams. How many playoff teams? They got it right. But how many of those playoff games do you, Seth McKinney, sit there and give a crap about when they get there? Well, it's playoff football. So I watch it. I watch playoff, but they sucker me in. You watch like, I barely watch. So you're not going to watch Ohio State versus, I don't know who that would be. Oregon State? You're not going to watch Ohio State, Texas? No, I'll watch the playoff game. I'm talking about the early in the year. I'm saying I truly believe it is going to take away these early games and it definitely will take away how much they matter. Georgia versus 24-12. So you guys want games that matter, I feel like we're already getting them. I'm watching them every week. I'm watching them, I watched them all last month. I just, I get your argument. LSU, Ole Miss. I get your argument, but I still think that in today's world of the portal, NIL, nine game conferences, you're going to have really good teams that are not gelling early in the year. That need to be developed where at the end of the year, they're playing like a championship team, but they already got three losses. Yeah, yeah, you're right. Those are the things I'm talking about. But before Three Finger Brown goes to break over here, can I tell you what I, so basically by y'all's logic, you'd also be okay if they double that up and go to 48 at some point. No, no one's saying that. So 24. No, that's not the logic. So 24 is your cutoff. Strong man, strong, Bill. I think 25. Is 24 your cutoff? I do agree, 24 is like, that's enough. I'm just making sure. I draw the line. Because then, you know, hey, we're 45th, but we get to play this one game that matters. It doesn't, because you're not winning the national time. Maybe we'll have a play-in. We'll have a play-in. It's a play-in at the end of the year. Hey, by the way, if you're the 24th team, you don't have a chance to win. And it's not even a bowl game, because you're getting sacrificed. We'll see about that. Yeah. Pumpkin Palooza, October 24th and 25th. Back here on The Final Countdown, presented by Game Day Sweets Aggieland. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for the Freak of the Week. It's the Freak of the Week. I think we've got to do that again. We're done. Sorry. So who missed last? Oh, you were golfing last. Seth was golfing. I found out the morning. He was golfing the week before. That was payback for Steve golfing. Yeah. All right. So I guess, Seth, you go first. Freak of the Week. OK. I'm going to go with the offensive line. They should be able to have their day with these guys. That's what I want to see. I want to see just pure dominance. I mean, they've got to get some confidence and build on it. I mean, that's it. I mean, like, you're going against the Citadel. I'm sorry, they're not good. What a boring answer. It's not boring. Obviously so. What do you want me to say? Oh, Marcel, let's go for 500 yards. Pick somebody that's been struggling that we'd like to see pop off. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Give me Marcel, give me KJ Edwards. Those are the guys I want to see go off. Maybe ABR. Maybe show up and ball out for once. That's what I want to see. You just got attacked. Of all the games for the offensive line to be the freak of the week, it's not the Citadel, bro. You don't think they're going to be the freak of the week? Seth wants four quarters of ground and pound. Obviously, they're going to be the freak of the week. That's why I picked them. I'm not so sure. I was supposed to pick a sleeper for my freak of the week. But in fairness to Seth, they still got to mentally pick up the blitzes and twists and stunts and games as y'all call them. Just such a freaking lazy pick. Well, Seth is very milked toast. Milked toast? Okay, milked toast. Look at your shirt, milked toast gil. I don't have to. But did you win wheat bread shirt? Steve, you did about nine Freak of the Weeks for any of those jerks. I mean, yeah, give me ABR, man. ABR. Come on, baby. Let's just, we need a receiver to pop off. I'd like to see some different level of effort at receiver. And I know it's frustrating for them, probably more so than anybody on the field, but I'm actually, I've been pretty disappointed and I haven't liked what I've seen from that position. And I think they're missing Terry Bussey a ton. Craver is a dog and he's hurt. You can tell he's plain hurt. But like, if these guys aren't gonna do it and show me effort, and I mean, by the way, I mean, bleepity bleeping blocking. I was just about to say. Like, if you're not trying to get your ass off the field. You asked earlier. If you're not gonna block. Okay, I'm gonna make you see. You asked earlier. And the NFL is watching. Can a guy make a difference? I'll tell you what, a receiver blocking, although rare, gets people hyped up on the sidelines, man. Like, people love to see it and your linemen love to see it. You know, make a block. It's fun. And yes, and it's like, I'm a leader, I'm going to dominate. Mike Evans does it. Oh, he's going to the Hall of Fame. I'm sorry. Yeah, no, I, if I was Mike Oco, I would say, my starting receivers this week are gonna be the three guys that block the best in practice. Period. You guys want to have poor body language. You want to not fight to get open because you were open to play before and didn't get the ball. So you're not trying off the line of scrimmage. You don't want to block. You want to drop a pass because you'll say, well, the last two weren't on target. So I'm going to drop the third one, let it get intercepted. Like I'm not doing that. And I get why they're frustrated. But my advice to them, if you had anyone that could get through to them, and I don't know if there is or not, would be, I know what's going on. I know this is tough. But if you put this on tape, you're hurting yourself. Like your future in football, the money you're going to make in a year or two years or ever, you're killing yourself with your body language, dropping balls when you do have the opportunity to catch one, being lazy because you just assume you're not going to get the ball, and more than anything else, not blocking and not being a good enough teammate. That's it. That's why I'm not picking a receiver this week. And somebody, I do think somebody will have a good game because again, just pick the whole receiving core. Yeah. I mean, right. Just pick the whole receiving core. I mean, we could have the whole team. I could like Seth over here. Are you going to pick somebody though? No, I just wanted to say, this was a Steve going after Gabe when he wanted to pick six moment. Yeah. And that's what he just did. I was going to say, well, let's pick six or what? I'd like to see a pick. I, too, would like to see a pick six. First off, there's precedent for that, man. I've done this before. I'm going to go defensive side of the ball, and I'm going to go with Taufik Bayard at safety. Good one. He's going to get a pick, potentially a pick six, or force him to cover a fumble. I like what I'm seeing. There are a couple of guys I like what I'm seeing on defense are him, Rink, Brandon Davis-Swing, big number 11 in there. It's interesting that if I'm rating two of the three poor old guys on the most fired up, had a great week. Well, I hope Noah doesn't think he had a great game, because anytime you give up 250, I remember Mike Sherman told me a story one time when he was- A better game, I should say. Sherman told me a story. He said, there was a linebacker and he came in to his office, and he was pissed that I don't know if he didn't get Player of the Week or if he didn't get more playing time. He made a bunch of tackles or he was critiqued on film or whatever it was. He said, I made 15 tackles, 16, but it was a high number. He said something like, we lost the game and we gave up 300 yards rushing and 52 points. For you to come in here and want anything in the way of credit tells me everything about what's wrong with you, the player. So I thought Noah MacKale played his ass off, but I hope Noah MacKale doesn't think he played his ass off because I hope he looks at the thing and goes, we gave up a 220 yard freaking rusher. But I loved his intensity. I loved the way he flew to the football. He made plays behind the line. He chased plays down. He was physical. There are some individuals, right, that I'm seeing like stocked up. And the defense did all they could for them. It wasn't their fault. Let's just say that they were perfect. That was my freak of the week in case you needed to know. TJ Cerci for me. He's been consistently very good. He has. He's had a good year. I'm going to now do the Sleeper of the Week, presented by The Sleep Station. Go see Jared MacLeod and ask about the Tempur-Pedic mattress or the Purple mattress in the Spex parking lot at Texas and Harvey and in front of Lowe's at William D. Fitch on Highway 6. The website, thesleepstation.com. Steve McKinney, your Sleeper of the Week is. Okay. What was that? What was that? What did I even do? What did I even do? I was so excitable. Okay, well. I got to hear that on replay. Was it Latin? I don't know. Yeah, that was weird. He sounded like that guy from The Birdcage. The two dudes on Seinfeld. I wasn't expecting to come to you so quickly. You sound like the guy that's in Seinfeld when they took the armoire from Kramer. I was going to try to think of a defensive lineman or something, but I'm going to go with Keati Armstrong. I went with him last week. That's a good sleeper. But I like him and I think he's just continuing to get more reps. I know we're going to see some big plays out of him this week. I believe that. So let me have Armstrong. Imagine Citadel trying to tackle him. I'm going to go with Davis Swain. I think that he had a coming out party last week and maybe he can keep that going. Why was that statement? Don't whisper. I said you just heard that name. Y'all didn't even mention him. You had an original thought? I did. Greed. I just talked about it. Did you? I didn't hear it. Thank you. Maybe it registered subconsciously. It's like, Davis Swain. I don't know where I've heard that name from. I'm going with him. But hey, he did a good job when he got in the game. He has a dominant performance. You know what I like about him, Seth? He is a bigger bodied interior D Lyman that I think A&M lacks. They don't have enough of those guys, those big, legitimately 315 pound dude with a long arm. I got some Aaron Donald style D Lyman, yeah? Yeah. Sleeper pick. I'm going to go with, I'm going to actually go with Carson Baker this week. Okay. You know, you mentioned KJ Edwards. I think it'll be a game for the young guys. I think we're going to get a, one of these two young guys is maybe both going to hit a home run. They're going to hit a home run play. I thought we were just pulling up high school stats. Cause I was like, I saw the jersey. I was like, what is this? Yeah. I'm going to go with Carson. I do think both the true freshmen will have good game during the football. But I'm going to go with Baker to pop a long run. I got a question. Who is Carson Baker? Freshman. Oh, really? What was, I really don't know. I'm going to ask a question. What about the Rosenbaugh? Rosen, Sam Rosen? Rosenberg. Berg, whatever. Rosenbaugh. Rosenbaugh. That's what I said, Baugh. Didn't I? I don't know. Anyway, he's a good looking young. By the way, just so we're actually clear, it's Roseborough. Roseborough. So everybody was wrong. TexAgs, we know that. I was right. Sam's a good looking young player. I mean, he's a true freshman. He got in last week. I think Trevon got banged up a little bit in the fourth quarter. So they put him in there, which I mean, to me says a lot, because you got Cohen Echols, who started at LSU last year on the bench, and they put Sam in. So I mean, I think that speaks a lot to what they think of him right now. Not mean he struggled a little bit, but he's a good athlete, good potential player. I think you'll see a lot of him this week. I do too. I think he's... When you're talking about dramatic things to shake up and do, that left guard position, I think, warrants it. Yeah, there's a lot of shake up right now. And Ivy's out for the year, and he was struggling already, and Ball, I think, has been a struggle. Tyler Thomas has been a struggle. He's young, so I think, like Sam Roseborough, there's an opportunity there to say, hey, do you want to start half a season as a true freshman, offensive lineman in the SEC? I think the opportunity is there. Now, you're gonna go, like you said, through growing pains with him. Absolutely. But I think there's an opportunity there for him to step in and play. All right, we'll hit a break. We'll do the pick six on the other side. Bubbles 33, they're on Highway 6 in College Station. Go check them out. Late Night Bites at discounted menu prices. It's Bubbles 33 on Highway 6 in College Station. Go check them out. We'll be right back. Thanks for watching. They finally own Daily Fantasy Sports Platform in North America. They're the easiest and the most exciting way to play DFSSU against the numbers instead of battling thousands of players, including the pros and the sharks. You pick more than or less than two to six players, stat projections, and watch the winnings roll. Check out pricepix.com/texags, use the code TexAgs. Pritchard. I played it last night. Did you? Sydney Pritchard is at the Angry Elephant News and Social Center. Sydney, can I do something before you get... Yeah, go for it. Sydney just tries to take over the show. He just won't stop cutting in over there. He's got a really bad reputation for doing that around here. Here's a text that came in. You like your text? Yeah. I got some of my own. All right, let's go. Why did you even give me that look, though? That was very aggressive. Well, I said I got some of my own. This is from a texter known as Luann McKinney. She says, am I going to have to come up there and break y'all up? I have never seen y'all be so rowdy. Steve says, it's Billy's fault, mom. And she says, don't blame Billy. So like I always say, trust in Luann. She knows. I'm blaming Steve for all this. Yeah, this was definitely. Oh, don't try to gang up on me. You're the one that brought it all. Well, I'll bring it, dude. You better get used to it. Let's see how you bring it with Sidney's picks, as I like to call them. Okay, time for me to go. I like that, it's better. Okay, so for the first game. By the way, can I just say this? We'll continue on texags.com because Brian Broadcasting is about to end. I'm awful, by the way. For the first game, we have number 16, Mississippi State, who's heading to Tiger Stadium to take on number 22, LSU at 11 a.m. LSU is the 14 point favorite and Camario Taylor is still questionable. I don't know what to do anymore, guys. I've lost my confidence. Without Camario Taylor, and I don't think he's going to play, because I think they're in that mode where you run the risk of losing him for a lot longer. I'm going to go LSU to cover that. If he was playing, I think I might pick an upset. That's pretty. Yeah, I'd have to agree if he thinks he's not playing. Yeah, give me LSU to cover that. He is everything to me. I'm picking LSU. Even though that does me no good since I'm last. You know what? Give me Mississippi. I'm going to be Billy. Give me Mississippi State. Give me Mississippi State. Keep digging, buddy. Keep digging. I like it. You ready? It's a good strategy. All right, Sid, the kid. Okay, for the second game, we have number 13, Missouri, who travels to Oxford against number nine, Ole Miss, at 230. The Rebels are a six and a half point favorite. I'm going with Ole Miss on this. It's right off the bat. I'm a little, I'm torn on this because I think, I think Missouri's pretty good, but I don't know if they're really that good or if we were just that bad Saturday. And Ole Miss, the same thing. Like, I don't know how good their defense actually is. So, it would be interesting to see. What was the spread again? Six and a half. Ole Miss, six and a half. I'm going with. Yeah, give me Missouri. I'm going with Missouri as well. I think, actually, Missouri played, like, Austin Simmons. Now, part of it had to do with A&M getting pressure on them. I fell right into my trap. Played pressure on him, but he played poorly, I thought, early on against A&M. He was really off. Some of that credit goes to the Aggie defense, but also, like, I don't think, if you're trying to evaluate them, you got a great picture. You're going to give me that many points, and you saw what the Missouri defense did, A&M's running game, which is not anything to write home about, but you also saw what they did to Jaden Ball in Florida. If they can contain Lacey, I think they can hang in there. I'd go Ole Miss to win, Missouri to cover. Have you always been a left-handed ring guy, David? No, it's because I broke my finger. Wrestling, I bet. Yeah, I was, actually. I didn't know if you were in some secret society. What else were you broken at doing? Typing. I was like, who's defending you? I didn't know how to take it. Your face was telling me that you weren't. That's kind of a backhanded defense, I think. Gardening. Yeah, my wife doesn't like that I'm wearing both on the same finger. She doesn't like it. I'm married to both. I'm married to A&M, I like it. Cindy. Number six, Alabama is going to Knoxville to face number 14, Tennessee, at 230. The Crimson Tide are favored by seven and a half. This one, I think, is a no-brainer. Give me Alabama on this one. It's funny you did that, you don't even know who's out for them, do you? Well, as long as Keelan Russell is playing. You haven't heard, have you? No, tell me, Seth. Have you heard the good news? Tell me, Seth, who's out? I don't know either, but I'm going with Alabama. They're pretty salty. I think I'm going to go with Bama too, I do think it's a little, I think it's a little tighter of a game. I was, a couple years ago, I was in Nashville, watched Tennessee Alabama and a bar full of Alabama fans. And, yeah. But that was fun. It was actually pretty cool. I'm sure, I'm being serious. To just see, but that was fun. And it was really fun when they lost, to watch the shock and awe and horror. It was Keelan DeBoer's first year of his first game against them. They didn't even know how to act. This is not that Tennessee team. And I think it was Bryce Young, maybe first hand in Hooker, or was it Bryce Young versus, I don't remember. But I do think you're gonna see Alabama get a little revenge. They're gonna go up there. Morgan Wallen can write a sad song about it. I gotta admit. But they're playing without Ryan, Ryan Coleman Williams. You were talking about fans or whatever, or you're in that Alabama talk you were just giving. I saw some tweet that was like, the quickest team to talk about firing their coach is like Alabama fans, but like last week in the first 10 minutes or something of the game, there was all these mentions on some forum or something. Yeah, no doubt. College fan bases are insane. All right, Seth. Number two Notre Dame is at number eight BYU. That one kicks off at 630 with the Irish favored by 10 and a half. Oh, man. These are two teams I honestly know very little about other than watching Notre Dame last year. I know CJ Carr is good. I had nothing, no knowledge of what BYU looks like this year other than their. They have so much talent. I'm just going Notre Dame. That's a lot on the road. Yeah. Somebody that's played in that environment, man, it's not an easy place to play. Right, Bill? Yeah. You've been there? Yeah. You got pummeled and I didn't like that. By sorry. But you set up Steve Sarkeesian's entire career. I don't like how you're using the word you. Because you scored 38 on offense. Yeah, I don't like the word you in that sentence. That was a very good offensive game, although were you the guy that caused the penalty to get the game-winning touchdown called back? Because if so... No, I was not. Yeah, that was like an illegal formation. But I think I recovered a fumble in that game or something. Yeah, is that the one you fought AC about, getting in the stuff? No, no, that was a different game. That was a week later. I think I did recover a fumble in that game, though. Lafayette. Anyways, that's a tough place to play. Wait a second, wait a second. You're telling me you lost the first game of the season and the second game, you started out 0-2? Seth, why are we talking about, we're talking about 2026 A&M right now, dude. I just didn't know you started out 0-2. Yeah, it was a rough year, dude. We went back to freaking two-a-days. It sucked. I do remember that. Did y'all turn it around that year? No, we didn't. We were terrible, just like, you know, you have a bad season and the steam rolls into a worse season. But the next year, you played for the Big 20, you won the South. We turned it around the next year because we had better leadership going into the next year. We were like, that crap ain't happening again. You know, that was the attitude in the off season. That ain't happening again. But you couldn't fix it in season like you're telling these guys to do 20 minutes ago. Oh yeah. I'm saying you try and try to. You do your best. And then in 98, we had better leadership and they said, we're not doing that crap that happened in 90s. Yeah. All right, let's move on. So I'm going to go, yeah, I think I am going to go with Notre Dame to cover that. That's a big spread, but I think Notre Dame is better. I'm picking Notre Dame if I haven't already done that. I can't even remember. I'm going to go BYU to cover, Notre Dame to win. I think, you know, Notre Dame had their hands full for a while with North Carolina. I'm not anointing Notre Dame. I'm just thinking they're going to win. I just think BYU and the bear and playing in the mountains. You don't want to go face a bear in the mountains. BYU to cover. They'll get BYU's best shot. No one's scared of a bear in the mountains like Billy. Yeah, dude. I love it. I embrace it. Please come. Brad Pitt, DiCaprio, whatever, dude. Maybe not DiCaprio because he didn't suffer for a long time. He lived in a bear carcass. That's crazy. Pitt just got gored and that was it. What did he get gored in? What was that in? The same movie? The River Runs Through? What are we talking? I remember the DiCaprio scene. It's the one with the family in the mountains. The Legends of the Fall. Oh, he got killed by a bear in that movie? Sorry, spoiler alert. 35 year old movie, but yes, he got killed by a bear. It was like the way a warrior and a soldier goes out. That'd be like you in the playoffs, your 24th ranked team going against Ohio State in round one. You're like Brad Pitt, just take me. I got a very important meeting in 10 minutes. I hope somebody gets a copy of that clip, Brad. At 11 a.m., number four, Ohio State goes to Memorial Stadium to play number five, Indiana. Ohio State is the three and a half point favorite. You know what, I have a lot of confidence that Ohio State's gonna get revenge on this one. I don't think Indiana's as good as advertised right now. I think they're a solid, hard, gritty team, but I think they're gonna get smoked by us. I think Ohio State wins by two touchdowns. Whoa, I'm going with Ohio State to cover as well. Ohio State to cover, I love the coach at Indiana, but Ohio State. Watch them just win outright. Indiana, they're hard to kill. They are, they are feisty. Okay, for our final game, we have the Citadel coming to Kyle Field to face the Aggies at noon. A&M is a massive 45.5 point favorite. I like it, I like it. I think we cover it. I think we put up like 50 plus. Back in the breakfast today, everybody was laughing about that spread. And I'm like, guys, like, I get it. I get the jokes and stuff, but they were a reviewed over turn away from scoring 41 against Arkansas. They were gonna win that game by 34. This is Citadel. Look, you know, we've studied their schedule and results. I just don't, I don't see them scoring in a perfect scenario, like 13 points. So what do you 50, 59 to 13, but I don't even know if they might score seven. I'm gonna go A&M to not cover, but only slightly. They're gonna just miss the cut. So like, yeah, I'm obviously gonna go on the shutout. That's a lot of points, dude. I can't. I don't like making cover picks on 45 and a half. That's crazy. So it is crazy. They're gonna win big time, but all it takes is one score to predict. I'm predicting like 48 to 10. Yeah. So if that's clarity, A&M blowout, but not cover. Yeah. I'll let you guys continue talking. I got to go. I got an appointment. I think we're done. Is it your beard shaved? Is it personal or can we joke about it? You can joke about it. So what is it? What do you think it is? Haircut. Jiu-jitsu. I've got a private lesson. Oh, 101 Jitsu. Do I not? I told you about it. But I stayed. Who's teaching you? Joe Cirillo. Black belt extraordinaire. I heard the name. 65 year old would kill all four of us. He puts you in a knot, Billy. Yeah, I'm sure he would. Bye, bye. Joe Cirillo.
Takes mentioned in this episode
- Ryan Williams player · negative
“Ryan Williams will not be playing in this game. I think Alabama's defense is a little bit overrated.”
